| @ firstYorkie, I was going to say he same thing. Yorkies should not have a odor. The pup might have an ear infection or something is going on with his glands. I would take him to the vet ASAP to make sure he is not sick. |

| My second Yorkie, Tinker, suffered from a skin condition that the vet at the time had researched and sent off biopsies to University of Florida Veterinary School and it came back as being some type of genetic defect. She was very stinky except when just bathed and her skin flaked a lot and her hair was very thin. Definitely take him to the vet to see what's up! |

| Edie smells DELICIOUS for several days after her bath. I love to bury my face in her hair when she is like that. Then, after a few days, she has NO smell. If your sister's dog has some eye discharge that is not being cleaned daily, that can get smelly. Edie gets a daily eye cleaning with a warm wash cloth and has never had this problem. |

| Jasmine always smells good. Both of my dogs go to the groomer every other week and I bathe her on the off week. Everyone who picks her up says she doesn't smell like a dog at all. She smells so good. My grandchildren say she smells like my perfume. That's because I hold her a lot. She used to have really sweet smelling breath, but here lately her breath has been atrocious. We haven't changed anything, diet, etc. so I don't know why her breath smells so bad. I have brushed her teeth a few times. Does anyone know what causes the bad breath and what can I do about it? |

Shelbysmom is 100% correct!!! My three smell delicious, like HORSE POOP! They love few things better than having a horse apple snack and then rolling in the leftovers!

| I have two boys and two girls and only my boys smell of pee, they mark territory everywhere, I guess because there is two of them and I have the sister and the niece. I have shaved them underneath and I always bathe them with a special black shampoo to enhance their color and them before combing them I put some neutrogena and then perfume, but only the niece looks like she has never been combed. Her hair has a soft curl and has thick hair. My others have some curl around their little butts and one has sleek shiny hair. I guess just like people even thoug hwe are family everyone is different and some will always look like models and others won't. I guess that's just life! |

| I received a yorkie once because he smelled, the boy said he thought a dog would not poop in his own cage. As it turned out, little KJ was never OUT of the cage, he layed in his mess most of the time as the owner did not have time for him. After I got him, he never smelled bad, never was in a cage again, AND he was completely potty trained. He made me fall in love with Yorkies all over again. Ear infections can cause bad smell as well. For bad breath, if you use teeth cleaning biscuits it usually helps. Mine are so greedy, they will eat anything.

| when i first brought bunjee home, my husband kept saying that bunjee smelled like "dog". which was kinda strange 'cause other yorkie puppies we've seen did not have that doggie smell. hubby was concerned that our home will have that "there's a dog in here" smell. but after a couple weeks of weekly showers, daily ear cleanings, twice a week teeth brushings, and breath freshener additives in the drinking water, bunjee stopped smelling like "dog" and started to smell like baby powder, all the time. oh, he also gets baby-wiped after every #1 and #2, so i guess that helps too. | My little guy gets a bath once a week - and, I agree, he does have a "tiny little smell" that I pick up once in a while.....around his face (not his breath). It really doesn't amount to much - I just take a damp washcloth and wash his face, and he's ready to go -- smelling good. My dogs wear perfume.. a drop or two on their back after a bath or before we go visiting. And - they do smell "delicious" most of the time. Plus, wearing perfume, they make the whole house smell good! Carol Jean |

| Lily usually smells like my perfume. She is always on top of me. Hmmm, maybe I smell like her. Never thought of it that way.

Ha! That is so true. My older pets (poodle and yorki-poo) both have Frito Feet! But we always called it corn chip toes!!!LOL I never heard anyone else say that! My baby yorkie doesnt have that smell yet!We also always had a running joke that the tear stains on the face were "Black-Eyed Pea juice"... Go figure, I guess it is a Southern smell thing! I said that in front of one of my friends from out of state who has a Maltese and she said OMG that is exactly what it smells like...so funny they are both food smells..could be worse I guess!
