| Can you imagine? I had my pup with me at an outdoor event last night, lots of attention from Yorkie lovers. One couple came up to me, made over Ali and told me they used to have a Yorkie. I felt bad for them for a minute until they explained that he was 14 and they left him with the new renters when they moved away They felt he would be better off keeping things the same with his doggie door etc. especially moving to a colder area with snow and no backyard. Seriously? I felt so sad, can't imagine how you make that kind of decision. I guess I am projecting. I would have done anything to have my Shelby for that many years. Her heart would have been broken if I left her behind, just as mind was when she "left" me. |

| You just can't figure some people out. They may have honestly thought it was the best thing for the dog but it sounds like they wanted an easy way out of ownership. I am right there with you....if anyone has lost a dog too early in its life, you would give just about anything to get them back let alone give them up voluntarily for such a silly reason as these people did. I feel sorry for people that have never had a deep feeling of attachment to an animal - their life has to empty.

| When I move the first and most important thing is whether or not the home/apartment allows dogs. They are far more traumatized at being left behind than having to move to a new home with a family that loves them. This person did not love her yorkie. |

| Yikes, I wouldn't even have known how to respond to them, my jaw was on the floor just reading that. Karen's right, you just can't figure some people out and they prolly really did think that was a good solution. I couldn't imagine walking away from Billi like that, even worse is how that made their dog feel. To just abandon them? Sheesh, how sad.

| I really can't imagine. My last dog was an amazing female American Pit Bull Terrier, and she was our baby for twelve years. One of the hardest days of my life was the day we made the decision to put her down after four surgeries for a recurring throat tumor. I've fostered since, and even fosters are hard to give up. |

| Absolutely insane, obviously they didn't love this lil baby. I would have been speechless. I have had to put down or had babies pass away while at the vet, it never gets easier, it gets harder the older you get, my last girl had to be put down at 17 y/o her loss was the hardest for me. Maybe I just loved her to much. This poor lil 14 y/o baby, how can anyone do such a thing to a a pup they had for 14 years, just walk out on him like that. Wow, to much for me.

| Well, I was speechless. I mean I know "some" cats prefer to stay with their territory but a Yorkie? Really? My pup doesn't even want me to leave the room! I keep imagining that 14 year old baby wondering when his people are coming home. Heartbreaking. Yes, maybe they really believed they were doing the right thing. My husband told me I should have said, "Shame on you." I just walked away feeling in pain. Hard to think about but I am glad I shared here. I knew you would understand. Mind boggling. |

| That is so sad...some people do not like taking care of senior dogs. I had a neighbor that left his beautiful senior afghan hound outdoors (she had foxtails stuck all over her body & face!), all alone...while his 2 little puppies stayed indoors, so not fair!
