| Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I bring Galen everywhere. . . If he is in his stroller he is always tethered in. When we are just out I always have a harness and leash on. No one is allowed to pick him up. They can pet him. He is extremely friendly so he gets very excited. And if we are shopping I have a bag that covers the sits in the cart and he gets tethered to the cart besides having a leash on him

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | There is nothing that scares me more than somehow losing my kiddos via theft or them somehow accidentally getting out and someone taking them. We have an alarm system on our house, and I wouldn't care if they took everything I owned, just please not my babies!!! I do have them both chipped and tagged, but that's little help if/when dealing w/ true theft. They're never left outside alone. It's so sad and tragic and horrible that anyone would ever steal a beloved family member !

| This is so scary. I don't let anyone come too close to me when I'm outside with Chloe. Someone strange wanted to pet her a month ago but after he stuck around too long and started asking about her name tag I quickly picked her up and walked away. I take her places with me but not to places that aren't in safe neighborhoods.. I actually didn't take her yesterday to the mall because the mall I went to wasn't in the best of locations. She also ALWAYS has her harness on outside and the leash which I hold, even if she's in her bag.

| YT Addict | Yeah I have my little one in his pouch strapped in by his harness so unless they have a gun or knife they aren't grabbing him out of my arms. My older bigger yorkie male barks when people or dogs approach. I do look around before I leave the store to look for potential thugs. It's a crazy world we live in. |

| Ugh, nothing makes me more sick to my stomach than the thought of Billi being taken from us. My mom's dog was stolen when I was a teenager and it was heartbreaking seeing her go through that- and she knew who took the dog. The thought of some stranger or someone I know just running off with her... it's enough to make me cry right now! I hate letting her out front without her leash on since she is so friendly, she's been known to dart across the street to greet neighbors. Once she got outside and did that and I thought she was in the house. She was gone for at least 15 minutes before I neighbor I've never seen before brought her to our door. Scared the crap out of us- if we don't know her but she knows us, how easy could it be to just not ever bring her back?! Ugh, hate the thought, hate it!

| Having dealt with thugs most of my life, I sense them before they even get close, funny thing is they also sense me and pick another target. Living in Tucson and also going into desert here near border where our Government has signs "Beware of Illegals", meaning you are on your own, I always carry and wife does often. She's fast and accurate, was Gun Store manager and CCW Instructor for many years. We're old, believe in live and let live, but it would be a bad mistake to try us! |

| YorkieTalk Newbie! | I once read in a book a great tip! It was to write on it's tag: "Needs Meds" Chances are no one will want to steal a "sick" dog + people are more likely to return a dog to its owner if they think the dog needs to be on medication |

| Sorry to hear about anyone's stolen yorkie. Does anyone know about GPS locators - not just a normal microchip, but a dependable GPS locator that can be planted in the skin or on the collar of the dog? On another note make sure to keep them safe from predators as well - Coyotes , hawks, and owls. I lost one last week to a coyote and have been crying nonstop |

In the UK we have the usual collar attachment type medallion GPS tag. Not a lot of use for a stolen recovery, as presumably the thief would just discard the tag? I'm thinking of getting one - it works from a sim card and they cost about $80, but cheaper ones are a third of that? Could be useful in the case of a run off etc. | |
