| Rocky & Daisy do the same thing. I free feed them in the laundry room but they are baby gated up. When I let them out I put up the food so they don't transport. ;-) |

| Muffin started to do this with the bigger Wellness kibble. It's almost as if she needs to take it somewhere else, drop it and work it into smaller pieces. When she was on the Royal Canin and Chicken Soup she never did that. So now I pinch the pieces of kibble to make them a bit smaller and she doesn't do it anymore. |

| Yorkie Lover Donating Member | My girls do this as well....they are so spoiled that they won't even eat out of a bowl, we have to put the food on a plate in the living room and then they take a couple of pieces and go find a place where they want to eat them and then it is back to the plate for more!!! I think it is just a yorkie thing, because my brother's dog will eat at their bowls until it is completely gone!!!

| If I am home, Edie always brings the food into a room where my husband is or where I am. Usually, the living room. I think it is because she wants the company while she is eating! My Edith is a social butterfly. Fortunately, she eats dry kibble. Unfortunately, she eats it on my hand knotted Persian carpet. I can live with that, though. |

| Mine both do that. Not all the time but usually! I also have an older Sheltie that won't eat out of a bowl. He has to tip the bowl and eat off of the floor. Thankfully I have all hardwood or tile floors...

| I think they don't want to eat alone. Polly and Rudy don't do it, but Maddie does. She bring food to the room I am in. She brings a mouth full and then they all eat it, it is so funny. She is so sweet she lets them eat it too.

| My girls both do this too and it just absolutely drives me crazy!!!! Its like they wont eat their food out of their bowl they just have to carry it off a few feet and then they will eat it and then they go back to their bowl and carry it off to eat again. I dont understand it but maybe its just a yorkie thing. Who knows!!

| Mine all do this too. I have their food pn a rug for this purpose and their are rugs in the kitcen for them to eat on. You might try putting a rug under or near the food dish that you don't mind them eating on. Mine will also sometimes take the kibble back to their beds to eat it. Silly Yorkies!!! |

| Both Simon and Hallie do that all the time! Hallie will only eat if I'm watching her so if she gets hungry in the morning and there is leftover dinner in their bowls she will go get a mouthful and bring it to me in bed, sometimes she drops it on my face and proceeds to crunch away! Simon usually takes his under the table and eats it. I agree with the idea to get them a cheap little rug to put under their bowls or just put the baby gate up when they are eating! |

| Suggestion #1: Buy Mellie and Mac a nice "rug" and place it on the opposite side of the kitchen from their bowl. Maybe you can trick them. Suggestion #2: Adapt and learn to deal with Yorkie Kibble on your new carpet. I would think that you might have more success with Suggestion #2. |

| No, its not a Yorkie thing, my maltese does the same thing. We don't eat in the living room either. Only my furbabes are allowed to. Now this was hard explaining to my grandchildren.. lol |

| Simonandhallie "Hallie will only eat if I'm watching her so if she gets hungry in the morning and there is leftover dinner in their bowls she will go get a mouthful and bring it to me in bed, sometimes she drops it on my face and proceeds to crunch away!" This just makes me laugh...Baby doesn't do this with food, but a rawhide or a chew toy..it's all over my face! And about the food, Baby likes hers better off of the floor too....and I feed her in the living room, so not sure if she would like it moved....she seems happy with it there. |

| My (many different dogs) have all done this. Don't let it bother you. If you have a dog - you have to accept some of their little traits. Can't imagine dry dog food being carried to another area would bother you. Mine do this all the time. Don't ask me why!!! Carol Jean |
