| Yorkie baby size (6lb yorkies) Hi everyone. Hope all your lovely yorkies are well. I was just wondering if my new baby girl is likely to be the size we predicted. At 8 and a half weeks (before we got her) she was weighed in at 32 ounces. On the chart that means she should be 6lbs. She has long legs compared to our male when he was a puppy and I was wondering if yorkies can have growth spurts like people do because her body doesn't look in proportion to her legs at the moment. Both her parents are small but I know there could be larger yorkies in the bloodline. We have a 4lb male already and I was wondering if anyone has experience of 6lb yorkies, are they still rather small and easy to pick up? I don't mind what size she will get too, I'm just wondering what to expect |

| My boys have long legs. I love their look and their movement. Yorkies usually fill out, develop muscle, in their second year. My boys are 9+ pounds and I still carry them in my arms, although not as far as when they were 5 pounds. In a carrier, they are easy. They are still small enough that I have to watch where I step.

| Thanks for your replies! That's good to know, I like to know I could pick her up and carry her if needs be She is definitely going to be tall, it's very cute watching her running with her long legs, think she's still getting used to them |

| my previous yorkies were 4 & 5 lbs....current one is 4 lbs (the breeder thought she'd be 6 but she stopped growing at 4). I don't think you'll notice much difference between 4 and 6 lbs |

| Hi Bella is 6 lb and a year and a half old . Because I have a very bad back I wanted a dog I could bath and carry with out trouble . I think she is a perfect size . It doesn't seem to matter what size they are they wiggle into your hear and stay there. |

| Lilah is one and a half years old and four and a half pounds. She charted out to be closer to six or seven but just didn't get that big- her sister was a good solid seven pounds when they visited a 6-12 months later. I had hoped lilah would be a bit bigger for various reasons but she is lovely just the way she is

| Sophie Kate is 8 lbs and very portable. Honestly, she is my first Yorkie and cannot imagine having one smaller. She is a BBY (Big Beautiful Yorkie).

| My Diva is 7 pounds and I carry her around all the time. She's pretty light, IMHO. She was supposed to top out at 4-5 pounds.

| Wow, really? How much did your boys grow in their second year? Cookie's growth seemed to really taper off by about 14 months or so.

| My past girl weighed in at 17 lbs, I used a carrier for the times we took our day trips if to many ppl for her to walk safely. My adopted boy is 12 lbs, easy to cart around, but I got a carrier for him also. To me he is small. As a kid my father always had Boxers or Collies, so 12 or 17 lbs is small to me lol.
