My past girl weighed in at 17 lbs, I used a carrier for the times we took our day trips if to many ppl for her to walk safely. My adopted boy is 12 lbs, easy to cart around, but I got a carrier for him also. To me he is small. As a kid my father always had Boxers or Collies, so 12 or 17 lbs is small to me lol.
