| Omg! 11 teeth pulled Zoey had her dental today. It hasn't been one year and her teeth were so plaqued up that I didn't want to wait. Eleven teeth pulled! I knew she would have some pulled but 11 was not expected. She has been on that canned Royal Canin Low Fat food for almost a year. I told the vet I blamed the soft food for this. She never had plaque problems while on raw. He said it was probably just genetics and these dogs do gave teeth problems - I know that but I am appalled at the amount she lost. She had stopped eating kibble this last week so I knew her teeth were hurting. Thanks for listening to my sorry rant.

| Oh, another thing. I am going to go with Balance It for her new diet and stop the RC. Vet told me about this site.

| Oh how sad, I'm sorry about this- I know how worried you were having Zoe go in for her dental- wow! Eleven teeth! As Maximo said though- I bet she feels so much better. Tooth problems are nothing to mess around with and it is a good thing that you are ataying on top of her dentals.

| Join the club. Winston is 3, just had a dental today and lost 10 teeth. It's nothing to do with food or home care. It's genetics. I have a 14 year old with a great mouth who didn't have his first dental until age 11.5. I too was stunned to learn that 10 teeth came out, but it's for the long term health of the dog. It's far better to pull teeth that are not healthy than to leave them there to collect bacteria in deeper tissues causing inflammation in the body and other problems. I feed home cooked to my dog w/ a history of pancreatitis and I use the Balance It Canine K product. I also used the RC gastro kibble, but Barney seems to have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients.

| I am sorry that your little one had to have 10 pulled. It is a shock to hear that many teeth were bad. Her breath had just gotten so rotten that I couldn't stand it. I didn't want to wait until a year had passed for her dental. What a shame these little ones have such a hard luck with teeth genetics.

| Oh my, and poor thing. My foster, Dixie, just had 14 pulled last Thursday. I felt so bad for her but think it was the only dental she has ever had. I bet both our girls feel much improved!
