Join the club. Winston is 3, just had a dental today and lost 10 teeth. It's nothing to do with food or home care. It's genetics. I have a 14 year old with a great mouth who didn't have his first dental until age 11.5.
I too was stunned to learn that 10 teeth came out, but it's for the long term health of the dog. It's far better to pull teeth that are not healthy than to leave them there to collect bacteria in deeper tissues causing inflammation in the body and other problems.
I feed home cooked to my dog w/ a history of pancreatitis and I use the Balance It Canine K product. I also used the RC gastro kibble, but Barney seems to have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients.
