| I am so sorry, Mike. Lucy really went thru so much, but I am sure she felt the unconditional love and definitely gave it back to you. I do know that her story with the pit attack has given many of us a reminder... Even if the owner claims their dog is "friendly" we still need to have our guard up. Recently, while camping, one of the campers went walking by calling their dogs name. I, of course, asked if I could help.. They said that their pit mix was loose dragging leash and wanted to know if we seen it... It must have been the look on my face, because immediately she said... "Don't worry she's friendly." I told her straight up that irregardless, I couldn't trust it, but would help her look for it after I put my Yorkies securely back in the RV. ( by the way we did find her and she was waggin her tail and happy to have been reaquainted with her owner) We will miss Lucy, but her story will keep us on our toes as a quiet reminder. RIP Lucy.

| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Thanks. I was sad her last days were spent recovering from a dog bite, but the attack brought us closer. I was caring for her pretty closely during her last months and take some solace in that.

| She had a beautiful life with you, as you said, sad she was recovering from that attack when her end was due so soon. Again, so sorry.

| Wow, I just read all 11 pages and am now a little blurry-eyed. What a tremendous loss when Lucy passed. I am so glad she had you taking care of her, sounds like she (and you Littles) get the very best possible lives with you. I am glad you got a little bit of closure from the idiot's wife. Hopefully, that will keep this from happening again - at least with him. I'm sure there are plenty more irresponsible owners out there, but you have lowered that number by at least one. Thank you for that. |

| I have been reading on a web site about dog attacks. It is sickening how often the owner of a vicious dog blames the victim for their dog attacking them. It makes me so mad that people don't take responsibility for their own dog. The pictures of Lucy after the attack are so heartbreaking. I am so sorry this happened to you and Lucy. I can't even imagine the sheer horror of this happening to anyone's dog.

| Mike I have not been on much and just read about Lucy's passing I am so sorry. I am gald that the owners wife decided to do the right thing in the end. I am sorry though that Lucy had to go through so much trauma and that you and your family's had to deal with so much heartbreak.

| YT Addict | I know I'm hardly ever in here, but I participated in your poll today about frightened dogs and saw the mention in your signature...I am so, so very sorry to hear that Lucy has left us. She was a lovely girl and she was so blessed to be part of your family. I am also very glad that you got some justice at last for the attack. Bless you and Eddie and Jillie, my daughter and I think of you guys often, especially as we prepare to leave Alaska this year.Take care of yourselves and farewell for now, dear Lucy. Sweet dreams at Rainbow Bridge, darling girl. xxxx

| I think your Lucy had a big heart and unlike me, had probably forgiven the whole horrible situation within days. She sounds like one of those amazing dogs who show us the way--the right way...calm, easy, loving; what a great gal. May God bless and help you heal. When it comes to loss of a loved one, aren't we all still children? What hurts, hurts and nobody can make it all better (just yet, anyway), "In his grief over the loss of a dog, a little boy stands for the first time on tiptoe, peering into the rueful morrow of manhood. After this most inconsolable of sorrows there is nothing life can do to him that he will not be able somehow to bear." |
