| Hi im new to the site Hi, Im new here. I am a first time proud mommy of a feisty, stubborn, picky, finicky happy go lucky, hyperactive, precious, loving 7 mos Yorkie. He's name is Royce I got him at about 9wks. I have to say that he has brought so much joy and peace to my soul. Let me tell you a bit about my baby. Like I said I got him at about 9wks 1lb 9oz, he has the most cutest face (well atleast to me) when I take him out he attracts attention from everyone including other dogs. He's very smart, and extremely stubborn!! When Royce says NO it's NO lol. He has me well trained. He has LP grade 2 on his left hind leg, which he's doing very good right now, no limping. About a month ago because he is such a HYPER ENERGETIC little thing he jumped of the couch and fell hard on his right leg where he had a hairline fracture and had to be put on a cast for 2 weeks. He healed very good, but let me tell you if was one of the worst scariest time of my life (lesson learned)! I now have some tall pillows on my couches, N so far it has work, because he's a daredevil N will try anything once. On Thursday 5/1/14 he was neutered I drop him off at 7:40am (mommy was wreck) and at 9:30am Vet call to tell me it was a success, he was waking up slowly, but steady and I could pick him up at 5:00pm (longest hours). I pick him up and he was a little whinning, but not because of what he just went thru, he wanted to get out of there quick! lol as soon as we arrived home he ask for his food and I was surprise he ate it all and ask for more. He was a little out of it for the next few hours woke up the next morning much earlier than usual back to his finicky, picky self. It's been 2 days since his surgery and unless I tell anyone or because of the lamp shade he's walking around with you couldn't tell he just had a surgery. I Love my baby so muuuchhhhhhh! I never thought you could love a dog like your own. <3 Im here to make friends and learn from experienced Yorkie parents. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Awwwww, you sound just TOTALLY in LURVE with your little precious Royce. What a lucky little fella. And lol, he sounds *all* yorkie - bossy, quirky, funny, wild . So glad his surgery went so wonderfully -- I know how scary it is for the Momma. WELCOME to YT and looking forward to learning more about this little trouble maker.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Your little Royce sounds like quite a character, and must be keeping you on your toes. He has gone through quite a lot in his first 7 months, and I hope everything is smooth sailing for you from now on. I now have 3 girls, that are 5 & 6 yrs. old, and they are pretty quiet and mellow.

| Welcome to YT. Katie is my fifth Yorkie after losing our other little ones, and my life has been so much better being loved by moy babies over the years. I wish you the same kind of love and happiness that my little ones have given me.

| They are feisty little things aren't they? Just like having a little child to care for and so stubborn! Would not have it any other way. Not just anyone can deal with a terrier. There are some good publications out there with tips on how to deal with the terrier temperament. They don't always respond well to traditional training methods. Welcome to YT! |

| Hi Royce Mom: Welcome! I too am new here. My yorkie's name is Crispin. He is 2-1/2 years old and totally adorable. I love him to pieces. He does have one problem however, if someone reaches for him he lies on his back and wets himself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am concerned that I have to put water in his dish 3 times a day. Could you tell me if this might have to do with the fact that he eats puppy biscuits as a treat? Whenever he goes out in the backyard the only way to get him back is to give him a biscuit. Plus he won't eat his dry food without a biscuit broken up in it. Thank you for this site and whatever information you can give me. He is hyper and fun loving. I try to get him a toy whenever I'm at the supermarket but have found soft toys are not the answer because within minutes of giving it to him he has torn the stuffing out. |

I was just wondering since so many of the boys I read about are bossy are the girls the ones who are quiet and laid back or does it matter? | |
