My puppy's hair is thinner on the lower back Hello fellow yorkie lovers!! I have a 7 month old Yorkie, I have noticed that her hair on the lower part of her back is thin and dry. The rest of her body has silky soft hair. She eats well and always has a fresh water bowl. I bathe her every 2 weeks, perhaps this could be it?

that makes me feel more calm, I have no problem with her having two different textured hair types, as long as she's healthy Here is a picture, it's not very noticeable on the picture, it just shows up as a bit of lack of shine, but it is a bit thinner and shorter, compared to the rest of her hair. The second picture is of her by the front, her hair is very soft and silky. Thanks for your time! It is very appreciated!

| Aww your girl is ADORABLE! She reminds me a lot of my girl Moka. Her back is black hair and very brittle and breaks off easily, but her tan hair is soft and silky and grows long. Your girl may be what is often referred to as a a red leg. You can research it here as there are several threads about it. Perfectly healthy, just a type of hair/color. One thing about my Moka is, she's the easiest to groom because she NEVER mats. I do have to watch her skin a little because it tends to be dry. Regular baths helps keep her skin and hair soft though.

Cha Cha I couldn't help but notice the pic of your fur baby. She's gorgeous. All gray/white? Wow. Sorry, I hope you don't mind my cutting in.

Thank you for your comment Cha Cha, now I feel more calm. I must add that she is easier to brush than other "hair" dogs I've had ( Schnauzers) and that's a lot to say, considering she loves to be in garden digging holes and jumping in puddles. Your puppy in your picture is also so adorable! I'm sure they both are! RayGayJay, her name is Viva. She does look a bit like your's, but your's actually allows a top knot to be done on her, mine doesn't like them one bit.

Yorkie hair ! Unfortunately my now 10 year old Yorkie “ Charly “ has very thin hair on his back. I rescued him from a shelter 5 years ago, he was very skinny you could see his ribs and he had a skin rash. He gained 3 lbs since I got him and I love and feed him very well. However his hair has not grown back. Now he has a nice wardrobe and when it is cooler, he wears a sweater every day. Love my Charly and he fly’s with me as a carry on. He is so well behaved and seldom barks, only if he needs to go out and I’m not paying attention. Any suggestions about his hair growing back ?
