I had a shih tux with a coat like that. Her name was Yanna and she had a gorgeous coat except for the bottom half of her back was wiry, thinner, and had a wave to it. It was just genetics. I learned to live with it. I cut her body hair into a puppy cut but kept her face longer cut into sort of what looked like a Bob hair cut on a woman and she had a little top knot. I got her when she was older and was never able to get her to keep a now in her top knot. She always always rubbed her head on the floor until the bow popped off. If you don't mind a shorter coat you could do her hair in a puppy cut which might help disguise the more sparse area of her coat. Do you have some pics so we can get a better idea of advice to give you?
