| Cat Toys???? Darla seems to love and play with my kitten Mischa's toys as much as she does her own toys. I'm thinking next time I go to the pet store I may shop for Darla's toys in the cat aisle. Has anyone else's Yorkie loved cat toys? Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that they were bred to chase rats? Even the way she plays is somewhat cat like. |

| I don't know if Leroy likes cat toys as we don't have any cats. Though, the things that I did get Leroy that was for cat's was some breakaway collars and a bed which he likes more than the one for dogs that I had gotten him, it's in the shape of a little sofa. He also likes squishy baby bath toys that I got him yesterday.

| Aw that bed sounds cute. I plan to get Darla a sofa later. My hubby and I are still recovering financially from the cost of her and her essential supplies. She's used up pretty much all of our fun funds for the month of April but there's always May, lol. :P |

| Does she like them because of the size maybe?

| I think size definitely has a lot to do it. When I was looking for toys small enough for her tiny mouth at petsmart I didn't find as much variety in the smaller sized toys than I did in the larger sized toys, surprisingly. So the thought did cross my mind to start looking in the cat toy aisle too but I figured she may not play with a toy that doesn't have a squeezer or some sort of something that draws a dogs attention rather than a cats attention. That was the first day I got her, now after having her a couple days, I'm seeing she loves cat toys. So I'm definitely gonna check out both dog and cat toys for her from now on. I need to get a bin or toy box for her because I know her collection will grow exponentially. |

The bed is not as fancy as the actual sofa beds that they sell for dogs but it was inexpensive and he loves it. Here's a link to it lol I didn't know how to describe it. Smartykat:Cats Bed Comfort, 1 Ct - Walmart.com

| I'd be leery about cat toys because of the cat nip and bells. It's hard to find toys small enough to fit in a tiny puppy mouth. One of Lola's favorite toys was (is) some fleece I braided for her. Something like this might be good for her, Petsmart usually has a variety of designs, they're unstuffed, have crinkle paper and a squeaker. Martha Stewart PetsŪ Ladybug Crinkle Head Dog Toy | Toys | PetSmart This butterfly was good for Lola's tiny puppy mouth too, and she still loves it, unfortunately petsmart doesn't have it anymore JW Play Place Butterfly Dog Chew Toy | Buy Chew Toys, Inc, Doskocil Manufacturing Co. Online If you have a petco nearby they have toys 2/$5 by the register, a lot of them tend to be small and have big squeakers, Lola loves them. They're also sewn better than a lot of toys. |

| We don't have any catnip cat toys. There's a little zebra print mouse she likes to chew on that doesn't have any bells. She has her own dog toys too but she adds a few cat toys to the mix too. If I had ones with catnip or anything small she could chew off and eat, I wouldn't let her play with those. I had shih tzu before so I know how cautious I have to be about them being so small. My Shih Tzu Jaden was just 2.5 lbs when I brought him home. My shih tzu were all on the small end. The biggest one I had was 10 lbs. If our cats get catnip it's because we bought cat grass for them. Thanks for the links. I need to go to petco today so I'll check out the 2 for 5 deal, thanks. Last edited by SarahBear1986; 04-26-2014 at 06:02 AM. |
