| Question Those of you that give frozen green beans as treats, do you buy frozen green beans or buy fresh and freeze them? The Vet said Bella is too heavy. I'd like to swap her treats out for the green beans as part of her weight loss program.

| I don't feed mine frozen green beans mainly because they don't eat them but I believe the nutritional value of store bought frozen beans are abut the same as fresh and then frozen - so long as there is no added salt or sugar.

| Agreed. The store-bought frozen ones work just fine. I would thaw them just a *little* (but not completely) under running water before giving them, because straight out of the freezer they might be a little too cold and cause frostbite (kind of like sticking your tongue on sub-zero metal playground equipment). My Bella is absolutely mad for frozen peas, and if I didn't thaw them a little first, I'm sure she'd get a Yorkie brain-freeze, because she gulps them down a handful at a time. |

| We have used the frozen ones. We just put a handful in a container in the fridge and let them thaw and give them thawed. Winston has to watch his weight too but he has a sensitive stomach.
