| When I got Cricket, I had actually just lost my first ever Yorkie Daisy at 16 weeks old due to aspiration pneumonia.( that week to be exact, I lost Daisy on a Tuesday, and by the end of the week, my mom, dad, and I were getting in the car to go look at puppies). I couldn't decide because they all looked the same. They were all so cute. A couple of weeks later, my dad and and I went back to get a puppy. I was still having a hard time deciding, and the woman I got her from said that if she were keeping one she would keep a certain one. I wound up taking that one. It was a very good thing too, because I honestly don't think cricket would be alive today had I not taken her. My parents and I found out that she had a liver shunt and had to have surgery. She is good today, but I can only imagine.........

| Gosh, such wonderful stories...Winston is my 2nd Yorkie. About 2 months after losing Spencer, I decided the time was right to start looking for another. The breeder we had gotten Spencer from had passed away...so we had to start our search back at square one. After many phone calls and driving miles to visit pups, he found us. I just couldn't decide...so my husband, who is much more decisive than I, picked him out of the litter. We met both parents, it just felt right. So we brought him home that very day. He has been the perfect puppy and now dog...he made our house a home once again.

My furkids Donating Member | Sadie,my first, actually picked me! I had a different girl picked out and she came and sat on my foot! LOL...guess she was trying to tell me something! Lillie, my second....was the only female and Bentley was the last one of the litter to go...I am very happy with all 3 of them!

| My Ole Girl was 16 last July and one day she just didn't wake up. I was devastated and cried daily for her. My husband told me that I needed a puppy to help with the sadness. I didn't think I wanted another poodle since there was so much grooming involved and all the ladies at the campground had yorkies and morkies and I loved how they were and the fact that there wasn't much grooming. So, I looked and looked at breeders in my area but didn't find what I wanted. Then one day while I was searching for yorkies I came upon a photo of a parti-yorkie, boy was I hooked! I found an area breeder, sent an email asking if she had any puppies but didn't get a response. About a month later she emailed me back and said she had a litter of 3, 2 males and a female. Female was already taken so I had the choice of the two boys. They were just wee babies at the time so I couldn't go see them, but I knew from the photos she sent me which one I wanted. Two months later Boomer (his name at the time) came home with me. He has been my best buddy since. Little did I know that there is much more grooming with a cotton coated yorkie than there is with a poodle! Fooled me good! Wouldn't trade him for anything in the world.

| Pretty simple here: 1. Picked Deb Sillers as our breeder, and inquired about female pups 2. Deb had two and sent pics of Gracie and Sophie. Both beautiful, but we fell in love with the larger girl (Sophie), renamed her Cookie, and snatched this bundle of joy up all for ourselves! With Minnie we got her because her owners moved away and left her to die in the yard. A neighbor rescued her, but Minnie was really dog-aggressive and was kicking the crap out of her other dogs, so she had to give her away to a good home. Which was ours! Cookie Monster and Minnie Bear are easily the two greatest dogs I have ever had. Both so much fun and so filled with happy energy!

| My father died the beginning of June 2012. Later that month I asked our vet if they knew of anybody with Yorkie puppies and they had a client who lived 5 minutes from us with puppies. Our Sheltie had died in 2010 and though we had 2 other dogs, there was still a huge hole in our family where Mysti had been. My daughter and I were still struggling with Mysti's death, and she wanted nothing to do with puppies, but I got everybody together and we went to see them. As we were playing with them I noticed my daughter had gotten quiet and was holding one puppy. When I asked what was wrong, she said the puppy had Mysti's eyes. Puff came home with us that day and she has been the biggest blessing! We also found out that when the puppies were 2 weeks old, their father was killed by another dog.

| I did not choose Bayleigh. A lady called the shelter and wanted to surrender her 3 month old puppy. We didn't have room but I offered to foster her (without even asking my boss! Oops!). Three days later, after denying that I was going to keep her, someone else wanted to adopt her and I couldn't let them. I ended up keeping her. She's the best bad decision I've ever made. lol After months, closer to a year maybe, of looking for a purebred yorkie puppy in rescue and not finding a rescue that would work with us due to one reason or another, I started browsing Craigslist and other similar sites. I found an older couple who was rehoming their 5 month old pup because their grandson was too rough with her, we decided to go see her. It was a done deal.
