YorkieTalk Newbie! | Looking for some advice! :) Hi Everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted something! Just so you all know I've been reading some posts and they've been very helpful! My little Lily is doing great she got spayed and recovered amazingly from it she's such a trooper! However she is 8 months old now and we are still facing some challenges with her. One of them is I don't think she is eating enough in speaking with the vet she told me to stop giving her any type of people food and we have, I mix her kibble with a bit of wet food just to get her going but sometimes she goes a whole day without eating it? Any suggestions? I worry she's not getting enough nutrients to grow and develop properly! Secondly, with the snow melting she's discovered rabbit poo, again in speaking with the vet she's explained the issues with that and showed us how to train her with the "leave it" command! I think it's working??? But again I worry so much about her getting some sort of parasite! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Picky eaters are tough, I feel for you. Have you tried a different kibble, w/ a different protein source? One thing you should try is sprinkling Parmesan Cheese (the kind in the green canister) on the food - it's nice and cheesy/pungent smelling. Remember, dogs eat first with their noses. You could also try some low salt chicken broth on the food, but I think the Parm works better. I too would be worried about the rabbit poo, so keep working on that leave it command .

| I've been fighting with a picky eatter too. For dry she eats health extension little bites and I'm going to try farmina n&d when I run out, a lot of people have had good luck with it. Both companies will send samples. For wet she eats weruva, hound & gatos, simply nurish, and sometimes other brands. I have to top her food with fresh meat, cheese, or veggies. If the food is mushy I have to cut it into bite sized pieces. Good luck |
