If I'm trying to grow out a long coat, do I hold off on going to groomers?

Aww thanks. Your prob talking about teddy - that was in a full coat and he is now chopped short like a baby!

My friend kept going to the groomer through the coat growing process, don't see why you shouldn't keep your baby shiny and tidy

Genetics will dictate how well and how long that coat will grow. I had three in long coats and just cut them all down. It is a lot of work to keep up with to keep them long and I think they are happier shorter. But, if you want to encourage the coat to grow, keep it clean and brushed and trim regularly. I brush Rosie 3-4 times a day! It really is a lot of work. Plus drying her takes twice as long as Mikki. And you are so right about genetics. Rosie's hair grows like crazy but Mikkis don't hardly grow at all. I only had boys so Rosie is my girly girl. I love pampering her and doing her hair. .

OP, Here is my sweet Rosie. If you are patient you can grow it out. But patience is the key word.

Rosie's hair is beautifulllll! I agree that maintaining long hair is a lot of work because now that Chloe's hair is getting longer it's more maintenance than when I just got her... Butttt it's so beautiful that I can't help myself from wanting to grow it out lol.

Thank you. I totally understand. The work is worth it if you like the long coats! Can't wait to see Chloe all grown out!
