| Clicking noise when walking? I was playing fetch with Bentley and he started limping for like 2 minutes, I dont know what happened, since then (Sunday afternoon) I hear a clicking noise every once in awhile when he walks. He's now running, playing, acting normal like he's not in pain or anything. What could this be? Should I get pet insurance before taking him to the vet, in case this is luxatig patella or hip displasia ... Please help, I'm so worried

| I would certainly look into insurance. It does sound like his knee but could be the hip. |

| Just had a scare with him two months ago and spent over $1500 at the vet. And now this. He's not even a year old yet

| Its sounds like it could be LP and does need to be checked out. There is a waiting period for insurance so I would say if its LP its to late for insurance.

| I think insurance gets you to visit the vet before the policy actually starts... |

YT 1000 Club Member | I definitely agree with everyone saying that u should get this checked so you can at least rule out some possible causes. It could be a little problem that turns into a big problem if not treated. Do you think you could contact his breeder and tell her/him about this and maybe he/she will cover some of the cost depending on what's wrong if anything? I hope everything goes well for lil Bentley |

| Some insurances don't require a visit before it starts...it just requires a wellness checkup within that year so as long as your dogs been to the vet, it's fine. Healthy Paws is one of these...as long as your dog is under 6 years of age. So bentley would not have to see the vet to get insured with them. Most do have a 2 week waiting period before the insurance starts. If you get insurance, you may want to see if they cover and hip displasia. Some won't ever...some have longer waiting periods. Healthy Paws will not cover displasia until you've been under coverage for a year, but it will cover congenital problems, so I am assuming LP will be covered. None of the insurances cover pre-existing conditions, so if you take your pup to the vet before you get insurance and before the waiting period is up, it will be considered pre-existing!! I agree with ColesMommy...if you can call his breeder, that would be great!! If he's not in pain right now and you think he'd be ok waiting, I'd try to get insurance ASAP. |
