The puppies are family to her even after they go home. So now that I've had my puppy for two weeks after he game home at 8 weeks what should I do cause he's not going home to mama now. You did have a choice no one held a gun to your head. Reputable breeders do not let there pups go home before 12 weeks and they do genetic and health testing. They do not just go oh we have been lucky so far and keep doing it because even if the parent dogs seem healthy they can still have stuff wrong with them or in there genetics from there great grandfather there could be a genetic illness and it could be your pup that gets sick. To insure the well being of our breed that we love we need to make sure that the breeders we are supporting are ones bettering the breed. The first thing I would do is get health insurance for your pup NOW one that covers genetic illnesses then I would be prepared for possible biting issues, socialization issues and potty training issues. I also would make sure you know the signs of hypoglycemia and keep watch out for it. Its very important your puppy eats and at any sign of sickness needs to go to the vet asap. Has your puppy had a check up by the vet yet?
