OMG we almost ran over a dog in our neighborhood

that is awful...poor thing may not be so lucky next time..yikes...that owner should not have a dog it sounds like.

You do have leash laws where you are so IF it happens often, then I would call to report the dogs are in danger of being hit by a car. They often give a warning 1st before a citation but they would not normally take the dogs unless they run loose all of the time & the people have been cited a few times.

Their dog is always loose, poops in everyone's yard, and once ran into my garage when I was leaving for work! I had closed my garage door when the owner ran over and said that his dog was in my house! Yes of course we have leash laws here. This was the first time I have seen these two chis, so I hope this is a one time only thing. I have only seen the pug at this house. And you know pugs, slow and pretty lazy. He mozies around while his owner (the son) if outside smoking or something. I have never seen the pug run. He usually just stands around.

There are two large dogs though that I see on occasion off leash and pooping in people's yards. I don't know who they belong to. We live at the end of a cul de sac. I usually bring Uni out not on a leash (she has good call back, even when she sees cats, etc), and Toto 100% on a leash. I took them outside and saw the two big dogs and turned right back around and went inside. But not before witnessing one of the dogs leaving a huge dump on my across the street neighbor's yard.

Am very sorry you had to go through that. When will people learn that they need to walk their dogs or keep a fenced in area for them.
