| Think so , I have a granddaughter that's into those and she gave me some pink ones. Cvs has them too. I too have a 3.5 lb with long silky hair . I probably just don't like to twist them up more than twice |

| Could someone post a photo or link for these bands? I really don't know what you're talking about. Wow, I've been paying $12/1000 for the kind I really like. Deb, you know what kind I use, are these cheaper ones as small & lightweight? TY!

YT 2000 Club Member | They are very cheap, but heavier and bigger. I have to wind in around about 3 times. It holds really well and doesn't seem to break or snag. They are rounded like the ones you sent me, but lots bigger. I got mine at Walmart in the craft dept. and they have them with kids hair stuff, too! Mine are multi-colored and really cheap! I think they were under $2.

| OK, thanks. I just love the small size & light weight of the ones I use. They stay in perfectly all day. The other way I keep my girl's topknots nice & light is by keeping the topknot hair short-you can see it in my avatar pictures. Some people may not like this look, but when I take their hair out at night there's not too much hanging in their faces, & during the day the hair stays up easily. I never have to redo the hair during the day. (BTW, I've never liked the little scrunchies-they just don't stay in all day & they lose their shape after a few wearings.) Dolly & Teena both love our morning & evening topknot rituals. They come running & wait for the other to be done so they can be next.

| These are the bands I used to use Bulk Basic Solutions Black Rubber Hair Ties, 500-ct. Packs at DollarTree.com These are the loom bands http://couponcuttingmom.com/wp-conte...loom-bands.jpg I keep Lola's top knot a bit longer than Dolly and Teena's, I like it to fountain to the sides a more. Lola seems to find the loom bands more comfortable, she doesn't paw at her head or rub it on the floor nearly as much as she used to, and I know removal is more comfortable because the other bands would get hair wrapped around them. I feel that these are better for her hair. If I had an older/calmer dog the topknot would probably stay in place all day, but Lola runs all over, jumps on stuff, rolls on the floor, nests in blankets, etc. |

| Do you just use the loom bands by themselves or do you also put a bow in? Also, 1 more thing. What's the easy way to section her hair to put it in the top knot? Abby's always look a mess.

| I don't always use bows. If you use the loom band, keep it a bit further back on the hair and put the bow (with the rubber band) closer to her head. This way the top knot won't fall over into her eyes. Whe I use the loom bands (which is always) I take the top knot and with a rat tail comb, split the hair across the head - from ear to ear. Using half the amount of hair, put a loom band on that hair. The top knot is right between her ears more towards the front. Then I take that top knot and join it with rest of the hair and pull that together using another band. You have the two bands about 1/2-1" apart. The top knot won't fall over her face into her eyes and it looks pretty with the two color bands in her hair. Our top knot is about 4" long, so it is easy to do. She also sits forever letting me do this, as opposed to my Biewer who is ready to jump off the table when he sees the brush and comb....which is why he has no top knot |

| There are pictures and a video on the BowBiz website on how to put a topknot in. It is especially helpful if you want to put a bow in and have it actually stay for more than a few minutes. Here is the link: How To Put In Dog Bows : Dog Bows, Quality Dog Bows - Yorkie, Maltese, Shih Tzu - by BowBiz She sells little grooming bands but I always buy the latex free bands because they don't catch the little hairs as much as the rubber ones do. Amazon sells them in larger lots for less money. 500 for around $10.00. Amazon.com: Latex Free Dog Grooming Bands by... When you do it like the pictures and video show with two pieces of hair instead of one you can place your bow securely on the front section then use a band to hold the two pieces together and it holds the bow more securely. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I love the bands from Lainee http://www.laineeltd.com/cgi-bin/lai...diumbands.html Also get the scissors. They have a little hook on the end so you can cut just the band not the hair.

| Thanks so much everyone. I really enjoy seeing what everyone uses and how you handle the "top knot". Thanks for the links and the instructions. Yesterday I saw these things that are called No Stick Grip ( they are hair bands for little girls ) They are kind of like a little fat gel material band and I don't think you would be able to twist it twice. I may give them a try. Just not sure they would hold. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of them.

| This is a picture ( not a good one ) of the "gel Bands" I was talking about. Please remember....this is not a good picture. Abby is not cooperative with the camera. Hope this turns out. I haven't attached a picture in a very long time.
