I don't always use bows. If you use the loom band, keep it a bit further back on the hair and put the bow (with the rubber band) closer to her head. This way the top knot won't fall over into her eyes. Whe I use the loom bands (which is always) I take the top knot and with a rat tail comb, split the hair across the head - from ear to ear. Using half the amount of hair, put a loom band on that hair. The top knot is right between her ears more towards the front. Then I take that top knot and join it with rest of the hair and pull that together using another band. You have the two bands about 1/2-1" apart. The top knot won't fall over her face into her eyes and it looks pretty with the two color bands in her hair. Our top knot is about 4" long, so it is easy to do. She also sits forever letting me do this, as opposed to my Biewer who is ready to jump off the table when he sees the brush and comb....which is why he has no top knot
