				   | The agility show is on Fox Sports 1 on DirecTV right now until 1:00 p.m. and it will repeat on NGWHD 2/12/14 at 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on DirecTV. A little gray poodle in full coat is running the course now. Next up, a Yorkie, Delilah! It's wonderful so far.

				   | Oh, that little Yorkie was so cute. She's cut back in a short coat and pretty fast! Now up is a Chinese Crested. This is too cute.

				   | I have it on tv right now. I tried to watch it on Saturday but fell asleep. I am sort of amazed that they are letting mixed breeds do agility in the westminster. I wonder if people are now going to start mixing dog breeds to create the perfect Agility dog?!? Last edited by theporkieyorkie; 02-11-2014 at 09:37 AM. |

I watched on Saturday. I was surprised at how slooowww a lot of the bigger dogs were, as usually dogs televised are the fastest of the fast, but apparently they could only have 3 of each breed (so that it wasn't filled with all Border Collie's, probably, lol). It's so much fun to watch though. I am having agility withdrawl as Jackson hasn't had a class since November.

				   | That was so much fun to watch. Wish they had those on with that kind of coverage more often. Most agility I see on TV is just short and choppy segments and you never get a decent show. This one was better than most to me.

				   | Did you guys notice they pretty much kept the dogs that were supposed to be the best/fastest performers for the end...I say "supposed to be" as there was one national champion border collie that wasn't feeling well and he quit half way through... and any dog can have an off day mess up on the course...but it seems like the winners for all of the classes were one of the last few dogs. I am wondering...as far as yorkies are concerned, if it's better to have a shorter, stockier, heavier yorkie or its better to have the taller, fine boned, light ones for agility?? My little dog is tall with fine bones and he is very fast...but he's more fragile than my other dog that's short and stocky and I would think he could get hurt much easier running a course. Also, is it better to have yorkies that are bigger than the 7 lb breed standard?? It looked like the little Maltese was having problems working the teeter totter. |
