I am wondering...as far as yorkies are concerned, if it's better to have a shorter, stockier, heavier yorkie or its better to have the taller, fine boned, light ones for agility??
My little dog is tall with fine bones and he is very fast...but he's more fragile than my other dog that's short and stocky and I would think he could get hurt much easier running a course. Also, is it better to have yorkies that are bigger than the 7 lb breed standard?? It looked like the little Maltese was having problems working the teeter totter. |
In general, lighter build, taller, etc, dogs are better for agility. But, it really depends. Did you see that Rottweiler? He was in fantastic shape, and not kept like a lot of the stockier Rotties are. He flew through that course.
