| help! I really could use some help. I am running out of ideas . My yorkie I put her in her crate when I go to work or go out anywhere. Everyday when I get home she has pooped and "finger painted or paw painted" with it. It's stuck all over her feet and nails and I have to give her a bath every single day . I really don't know what to do! Has anyone else dealt with this?

| My Daisy used to do this when she was a puppy. She hated being put in her crate and we found out she was pooping in her crate as soon as we walked out the door and rolling around in it all day. A couple of things we did that seemed to help were 1. Letting her walk into her crate by herself which made her much calmer, 2. Giving her a little rubber toy that had little treats inside that kept her busy trying to get the treats out, and 3. Coming home at lunch time and letting her outside. I hope someone else can give you more ideas and I hope something works for you.

| How has she done in the past having the run of a bathroom with those pads or newspaper down? How long is she in the crate? I'm still new at this but we don't crate, Gucci gets the whole bathroom area, bed, food, water. It's still got to be boring for him but he does sleep a lot. Gucci's poop schedule is such that he goes #1 his first time out in the morning then maybe #2 his second time out in the morning. Have you tried, going to bed earlier, waking earlier to start her and your days earlier? Take her for a short walk prior to going to work, putting her in the crate.... I don't know about you but for me, I gotta wake up a bit, have some coffee before I get to the "PAPER WORK".... Maybe it's the same for your girl. Just a thought... |
