| Nutrical Once a Day? Nikko is 8 months old and about 5 pounds. I still give him Nutrical once a day as a vitamin supplement. My question is should I stop giving it to him? He absolutely loves it but I was never told by the vet when I should stop giving it to him. I know it is high in calories and I don't want my baby to get pudgy. What do you all think?

| I don't think Nutrical is necessary unless they're having an episode. Maybe you can replace your daily ritual w/ Nutrical with something like Cottage Cheese or carrots?

| I wanted to give him a vitamin supplement to make sure he gets all the vitamins he needs. He will miss the Nutrical, when I tell him "Nikko its vitamin time", he does a little happy dance because he loves it so much!!" Maybe I will try the veggies or cheese. He is such a little eating machine he will eat anything!

| my pup is almost 3 months and I give him enervite 3 times a day before his meals. I was instructed by my vet to continue to give him this supplement until the whole tube is finished.

| I was told by my vet that NutriCal is 2% vitamins and 98% empty calories. So the only time is use it is if Syd throws up and I want to get a little something back in her stomach. The vet also told me that she gets all the vitamins she needs from her food, but I still give a small portion of fruit or veggie each day to give a little extra. Syd loves them and her coat is much more shiny since we started that. |
