| Why does everyone think Bentley is a girl? Ok this is really weird but ... Every single person that has ever said something about Bentley has called him a "she" ... Ohh she's so pretty, oh how old is she? it doesnt bother me really and I usually just follow along and dont correct them. But I wonder why? His belt is black and I havent dress him up yet (Florida weather! ) and he doesnt wear bows either.... Is it because he's tiny? Lol

| Yorkies seem to always be "she", just like big burly dogs seem to always be "he" to average people. Huey is called "she" all the time, even after I tell his name. I figured I'd better just get used to it. It doesn't bother me because I know he is pretty and I also know people don't listen

| Blazer used to get it a lot more when I had his hair longer and definitely when I had him in a top knot. I do think that it is because he is a small dog and, as someone pointed out in a thread similar to this one, a lot of people call a new dog by the same gender as the majority dogs they have or know. Such as, I have males and most dogs I know are male so I tend to think of stranger dogs as male first. Make sense? |

| I get that a lot with Yogi. It doesn't matter if he's wearing blue, black, camo...people always assume he's a girl. But in their defense, he is a very pretty boy.

| Same here....people always used to assume Princeton was a she when I just had him. Since he is bigger boned and Ricky is small and dainty, now Ricky has become the "she." Dressed up in boy clothes....naked...hair up....hair down...it doesn't seem to matter. People just assume since he's small, he's a girl. |

| Same here with Morgan. Everyone assumes that he is a girl he does not wear clothes or bows. Just a sweater when it gets cold here in montana |

| Its okay, people think Luma is a boy all the time...i think its the combo of having a small yorkie and a bigger one together...people assume the big one is the boy. This is with them both having topknots, pink bows, pink harnesses, and pink leash.

| Hahaha yeah! Even after I tell them "His name is Bentley". They keep calling him a "she". Hahahaha I ran into someone yesterday and I told her his name is Bentley. And then when we went our way, she said to me "ok take good care of her! Shes so pretty! Hahaha. agreed on the issue that people dont listen

| I'm with Marhcarter... I think unless you've had a yorkie(s) or you know someone with one, they assume yorkies are "girls". Everyone he came across always assumes "she/her". When they ask for his name, I say Magnus and some of the peoples response is "that's a very masculine name for such a pretty gal~". Sometimes I just smile and don't say anything. Sometimes, I'll jokingly say "that's good since she's a boy." |

| I've had people ask Lola's gender when she's wearing a dress with a sparkly bow in her top knot. I thought it was obvious; I wouldn't dress a boy like that. |

| Is Bentley neutered? If yes maybe bc he has no balls? I've had people looking @ their bums to see if it's a boy or girl loll. But seriously, some people do that, not get the sex right even when I've told them the right sex. Weird.

| I had the opposite problem with Gina, she had a blue harness, untill just recently, now she's in a pink harness. Everyone always asked what his name was, I always replied, "her name is Gina". Just ignore people they'll never understand until they have a Yorkie themselves. Cheers Quad & Gina
