| Licking at hip? This is very new. Kristy started licking her hip and we don't know why. We know there are no bumps or cuts, fleas. The only recent change has been that my husband has been taking her on really long walks. Could she be sore? Kathleen

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmmm. Have her knees been checked for LP? (luxating patella) Bc sometimes knees can cause referred pain, so the pain could be felt farther up the leg if she's having knee pain. In humans, we can get bursitis in the hip joint quite easily with overuse/improper use...so I suppose the same could be said about the dog's hip bursa...?
