| Happy Thanksgiving to All!! We made it home and back safely~unfortunately, we have to make the same trip tomorrow because I had to leave my car there to get fixed...unexpectedly. I medicated the boys on the way to my parents yesterday, but on the way home today, i didn't give them anything and they did fairly well. Ricky actually laid down on my lap the whole time but Prince is another story. He wiggles a lot and is up and down. He likes to hang his head out the window!! LOL!! On another note....we had no accidents and so far, no upset tummy's either. Both of the boys ate their dinner tonight at home, which is a good sign. This is monumental...just a few short months ago, Ricky took a crap on my dads couch!! Hope everyone else's turkey day was as successful as ours was!! |

| I am very happy to hear the boys did well today and ate their dinner! Sorry about your car and that you have to make the trip again.

| Ruger had a lot of problems when he was younger, throwing up a lot. Now he seems to enjoy it and I can pretty much take him anywhere. He will not eat any treats, however, when the car is moving. |

| Acorn gets car sick unless I hold her or she is in a booster. When visiting, she doesn't eat anything! I feel so bad I give her treats so that at least something is in her belly! She loves my parents house, it's just a 9hr drive. When we get home, she licks her paws and chest and bum like crazy for days. The poor thing :-(

| Glad the trip worked out well! I am always leary of buying over the counter meds... unlike human meds, there is not much regulation on it so you don't know if what they put in it or if it is good or bad for them. We use a secured crate for long trips ( the 3 Yorkies really seem to like snuggling up and sleeping together). For shorter trips, we like our Snoozer carseats. They are awesome and allow the dogs to see out AND they are secured with a tether that clips to the harness..... a harness MUST be used. Collars could be dangerous. Also we have found that a little drop of lavender oil (the good stuff .. 100% from GNC) rubbed on the tips of their ears is also very calming. The physical therapist that worked with Shelby used it and it was WONDERFUL! ... and the added bonus is that you get a hint of lavender smell while driving, too!

| Good tip about the lavender. I used it for Cali's first plane trip with no problems, but that was 4.5 years ago so had forgotten about it till you reminded me of it.
