Two Female Yorkies in a House?

They will have the same parents, Acorn is just a year older. I'm not sure if that counts as same liter, but hopefully I have similar luck and they're happy together :-)

I have two girls from the same sire and dam, though a year apart in age. They are true sisters, playing together, fighting together, sleeping curled up to each other...I kept hearing over and over a girl does best with a boy, not another girl. I accepted it and even picked our a boy name...but in the end I wanted another girl and I'm so happy I chose Rosie. They are best buddies. Neither show dominance. Girls are the best.

Thank you- that was very helpful! Almost identical to the situation I'm in! I think I'm feeling a lot more confident in possibly picking a girl :-)

I just wanted to revisit and let you guys know how its going! We got our new little girl (Coconut) right before Christmas.

Acorn & Coconut have been getting along SOOO well!!! I could not be happier!! I'm glad I went with a girl. I noticed before that Acorn tended to favor playing with girl dogs. Like I said, she was spoiled and territorial, but she really seems to love her sister. When he sister cries, Acorn is right there sniffing and checking on her! Even though Acorn HATES baths, she sits right next to me while I bathe Coconut to make sure she's okay

They play together and sleep together, I'm in YORKIE HEAVEN!! So glad we decided to get another dog, she's really brought a lot out of Acorn. Before, Acorn HATED strangers. Now she'll go up and sniff them after much braver little sis checks them out first

Thank you guys for all your advice-- I was so nervous about getting a second girl but it could not have turned out better !!!
