| Mickey is Home.! This is his progress... So far NO accidents. Slept through the whole night. No potty breaks. Woke up early in the morning and went on his pee pee pad and came right back to bed to sleep longer with me. He is doing really well. Im free feeding him. He is a grazer for sure. He is eating though. Which is good. He play bites. He knows not to bite down hard. His personality is so calm and perfect. Very gentle. He follows me everywhere and truly wants to be in my arms at all times. My family has already complimented his mature personality. He loves giving kisses and must have already knew what that meant bc he gives them on command. I just say give me kisses and he is all in your face.!! I couldnt have asked for a more content and loving dog. Its quite obvious the breeder (Deb Sillers-Amazing Yorkies) did a great job in placing him with the perfect matched family. It seems like he has already been with us for ages. When I go in the kitchen. He goes in there to make sure Im not doing anything else. Then goes right back in the living room and lays down. He is spoiled for sure. When hes in his carrier purse. He lays down occasionally peeking his head out. As soon as I put him in his crate. He whines and aint trying to have that! I gave him his way after we ate breakfast and I could see his tears that wetted his eyes. Poor thing. (He He) He is sturdy for his size. I will say that. Wearing clothes. No problem. I put his collar on him with a tag and bell. No problem.! I couldnt be more blessed. How perfect & AMAZING! XO Thanks all who enjoy our journey together!

| No surprise your boy is affectionate; my own Amazing Yorkie Cookie was a lover from the second I brought her home. I mean Cookie just loves kissing. I think it's so awesome how Deb warms all her pups up to humans so that they're happy and confident, not scared and timid, that first night in a strange place. Cookie did cry the saddest cry for an hour or so when we crated her that first night, but we ignored it and she has been great in the crate every single night since. I'd say to get on top of the biting behavior as soon as possible. Play biting can still be pretty bad. Cookie drew blood on me three or four times (one time in fact, A LOT of blood) play-biting my nose when she caught it in the air and gravity did all the work. For me, I had to dominate her by putting her on her back and holding her until she calmed down (I tried many many other things that failed before going to the dominance angle as a last resort). But the biting stopped after I did that.

| This is really not recommended anymore, especially with Yorkie puppies.

| Believe me, it wasn't my first choice. But none of the other recommendations (e.g., ending playtime and leaving the room, high pitched yelp) were working at all, and that one finally did.

| Yorkie fan, you do what you have to do to get your point across. Why is it not recommended anymore to put a pup on his side or back?

| Congrat's to You!! I really would love to see pics! I just traveled to Oregon and back to get my own Amazing Yorkie. He's a treat!!! He sleeps through the night as well. But after potty training a Standard Poodle .... a yorkie is gonna be a REAL challenge But I took him to my friend's place yesterday and he was running with the pack (Labradoodle, Lab & Yorkie bitch) like a trooper! I'm using my tablet and can't make it put the links here, but basically the group that came up with it has repeatedly said its not a safe or effective way to train a dog, especially a puppy. Search "alpha roll " here-there are a ton of threads on it.

| Thanks to you ALL. He is so perfect. I put him in bed. He knows to lay down. He has yet to have an accident. I'm sure it has to do with us never letting him out of sight or always holding him. I couldn't be more satisfied.!

| When I took Cook in to get spayed yesterday the vet tech and I were talking about how much we hate those people whose yorkies are easy to potty train (just kidding of course ). She has a three year-old yorkie who isn't housebroken, but I think she just got him out of a really bad house. Cookie definitely was not easy, though she is almost there.

| I am always shocked when I hear people say Yorkies are hard to housebreak. I guess I have been very blessed with that. Laddy came from a puppy mill before I knew what one even was and was fully house broken to pee pads in just a few short days, Kyra was pretty much trained when we got her, even Lolita our litte rescue (rip sweet baby) caught on to it all very quickly. Congrats on your new baby btw. Can't wait to see pictures.
