| Parker is "OFF LIMITS" So my children visited this weekend and their 12 year old and 6 year old was in the house. I walked into the kitchen and noticed Parker gone from his x pen. He was with the 12 year old. I took a DEEP breath and kindly told him the 6 month old is wiggly and has to be held on the couch and with two hands all the times. What I really wanted to say...and would have if I have known they were here..NO handling the puppy. Parker is 6 1/2 months old and weighs little over 3 lbs. I am not putting myself or anybody into the situation that I would have to live with the rest of my life. I am super carefully with him. He is basically off limits. It was a little awkward but I am not putting myself into a situation that might results in a dangerous situation with him. I told my DH WHOEVER including adults that wants to hold him will know he comes with instructions. Two hands all the times. I have been on this site too much to see the injuries that comes with casually handling and accidents. Anyway had to get that off my chest. |

| Delicate I bring Piper and Jilly to school for my students to see. I talk about them all year and have pictures on all my iPads so I like for them to see my dogs. They may pet but they can not hold them. |

| I have a 2 y.o 4 lb boy, but he was barely 3 lbs when I adopted him. He's got springs in his butt and he is very fearless and very clumsy. He's much more resilient than you would think he is, but I still worry sick sometimes because of some of the dumb things he does, or tries to do. Regardless, I still wouldn't allow children to hold him unattended. I wouldn't allow them to pet him unattended either. They can be rough and not even realize it. They can think they are holding them right when they aren't. My little guy has REALLY long skinny pencil legs so I even have to be careful with how I handle him. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Venting makes one feel so much better doesn't it???? I have a 5 year old son and a 2.3 lb 5 month yorkie and I hardly ever let my son hold my pup even with supervision. I think it's normal. sometimes children are a bit rough without meaning to be. Better safe than sorry |

| agree totally, LOL you should get a combination lock and use it on his cage when you have visitors I have seen adults drop tiny puppies because they can wriggle so fast and so suddenly.

| My grandchildren were at my home this weekend. My rule is "you are sitting on the floor at all times when playing with Gunner". They are not allowed to take him out of his pen and if they ever did they would never be able to play with him again. That is your house, therefore, your rules. The pups may have springs in their legs, but those springs still break easily. Put your foot down!
