| New puppy at home... We got a yorkie 2 days ago, my son got it in my country, we are all crazy and happy with the new puppy, but i have a little concern, my daughter wants to take it everywhere with her and stay out more than 2 hours and I don't think that's good or healthy for the puppy, the dog is hers it was her xmas present, I told her is a baby and is not good for him, but she was to show the baby to everyone, do you think is healthy? |

| Welcome to YT but I am going to say a big NO on taking your puppy anywhere until it has had all of its shots which I am assuming he/she might have just started the series. You need to let us know how old/ how much does the puppy weight? Also how old is your daughter? A good book she could pick up to learn as much as she can would be Yorkshire Terriers for Dummies - good easy read. Also it is very stressful on a new puppy coming into a new home let alone if your daughter is taking the baby everywhere. You might want to remind your daughter that the baby needs its sleep and as much as she might want to show the baby off she needs to do the right thing for the little one.

| I have a 2 1/2 month puppy that I have brought out with me several times. I usually just bring him to friends houses and make sure he does not step a foot on the concrete outside due to not getting all his shots yet. I think that as long as your puupy has water, food and REST it should be fine. Just don't take him/her out all day. |

| Hello and Welcome to YT. How old is the puppy? How old is your daughter? I dont think its a good idea to take the puppy out to much .I wouldnt let other people handle the puppy or even let her have it around other animals these little ones can get sick so easy . Has the puppy had all its shots? and not to mention they love to jump and dont know when to high is just to high and they can get hurt or killed very easy. |

| Thank you for your comments.... The puppy is 9 weeks old, it started the shoots already, my daughter is 18, when she takes the puppy she takes everything with her, but still, is a baby.... I really appreciate your comments.... |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I think it would bebetter if she would keep the puppy in at home and let a few special friends come over to see it. Yorkie puppies are very fragile and delicate. Good luck with the new baby.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | NO! Especially if the pup hasn't had all of it's shots! You don't know what kind of germs are out there just waiting to kill a wee pup. Please make her keep it at home.

| A pup needs on average 14-16 hours a day of sleep, adults sleep about 12. If the pup is only 9 weeks old she shouldn't leave for regular outings, also requires food 4 times a day (sleeping in between). Explain to your daughter until she is fully vaccinated (including her rabies at 5-6 months) she should limit outside exposure with other animals, pet stores, floors at the vet, dog parks, side walks etc. hope this helps
