| You are lucky, freshly caught sea fish. Don't get that here unless you want fresh water fish, swimming in a large tank in Tesco. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I know that feeling too! We have two wonderful stalls on Saturday mornings, just past the left of the picture, (taken from our balcony). It's delicious and sold within 2 hours of being landed... |

| Hey there, don't feed her marrow, with an upset tummy it's a bit rich and fatty and won't help the healing process. Slippery elm root. Keep the water that you are boiling the chicken in, don't cook anything in the microwave, feed that to her, make sure she's drinking it. Make sure you are giving her some kind of probiotic as her insides need to heal and maintain a healthy flora. My question to you is are you planning on feeding raw or home cooking as not many folks talk about natural holistic items like slippery elm. If you are then my next thing to suggest would be, buy some whole chickens, but them into about 4 pieces bones in and let her chew on that, observed of course. The bones will actually help bind her poops. You can PM me if you want. |

| On an other note, when your dog is have stomach issues you don't want to be throwing all kinds of protein at her that she isn't used to. What was her normal diet |

| I'd go ahead and get her re-checked by the vet as she's had a few bouts of diarrhea. Likely this is related to your wife being away but it could be she's got a virus or isn't tolerating the chicken or other of her food. Two of my Yorkies got to the point they could no longer eat cooked chicken or any "human food" made for them - diarrhea was the primary culprit. Jilly for a host of medical reasons and Tibbe due to MVD which materialized as an adult dog. Diarrhea and some vomiting or spitting up were the first symptoms that kept returning from time to time.

| I really think that she has gone too many days with this issue. At least call your vet and get an opinion. If she does have some sort of viral or bacterial infection it needs to be addressed. It's great to do some doctoring on your own with healthy ideas but when you don't see a good improvement within a couple of days then it is time for an expert opinion. |

Pretty sure the marrow he is referring to is squash. I think little crystal could do with a vet check with this going on 2 weeks time Good luck to you both!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | She's still not been for 24 hours now, but has had two helpings of fresh boiled chicken and juice, at 11am and 6pm, it's now 8pm. I'm hopeful therefore she's on the mend, after a 24 hour fast as any solids have just passed straight through her in the last 72 hours! Tonight I sprinkled a little 'Slippery Elm Bark Powder' on the chicken. She seemed to like it? Anyway all the chickens gone and the bowl licked clean. I'm nervous of the local Vet here, heard some poor reports. If she's not solid by Monday, I'll go further afield, but cars make her sick unfortunately and with no Mum here I'll have to crate her. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Also... I've switched her to Freshly Filtered Tap Water, away from bottled, which was a few months old and the last opened one could have become contaminated somehow? Anyway her intake has at least doubled as a result and I change it twice daily too. Last edited by docmartin; 11-01-2013 at 12:14 PM. |
