YT 1000 Club Member | Chicken Hawks and Irresponsible Pet Owners(RANT) I took Rasta for his daily walk today and noticed a silhouette of a bird over us. It was a friggin chicken hawk. We were the only ones out and the bird just kept circling and getting lower so I said "forget this" and picked Rasta up and continued walking, the hawk flew away after a couple of minutes. A few mins after that we walked by someone's home that has 3 large dogs and a dachshund(sp?) We walked on by then Rasta started growling and I was wondering what the heck was wrong with him. I turned around and the dachshund was chasing after us! I know better than to run, so I picked Rasta up(thanks buddy belt) by his harness and just kept a normal pace with the little ish of a dachshund on my heels barking its head off. After walking a couple hundred feet the dachshund gave up and I put Rasta back down to finish out his walk. Ugh!!!!! I was so mad! I understand sometimes our pets can get loose but if you have a pet you know is aggressive wouldn't you try to take extra precautions???? It seems like I can't even walk my dogs without interruptions like these(the hawk was just being a hawk but the dog being loose is just being irresponsible). Ok my rant is over |

| OMGosh! Thank goodness he didn't get hurt. I feel your frustration and cannot believe the frequency in which these things happen. The stories from the other posters on irresponsible pet owners just makes my head spin! It is soooo frustrating when you are being the responsible pet owner, and others are not! I am just so thankful that you and your little guy were not hurt. |

| I understand your frustration! We live in a very woodsy area. Our backyard is useless because of the hawks and owls. I don't even feel safe putting the boys on the 30' leashes anymore after our neighbor's Yorkie was attacked by a hawk. He is a big boy too -- more than 9 pounds. A few months ago when I walking Teddy, a chicken hawk doves within inches of my head and nailed a squirrel in front of us. He flew off with the squirrel squealing the whole way. It's hard being a little dog in a big world. Reports of coyotes in our area are growing too.

| I had a neighbor that had about 5 dachshund. The gave Piper a hard time every time we walked down the street. My husband put Piper down one day and Piper stood her ground barking under the careful eyes of hubby on a leash. They all ran. Haha. Thank goodness they moved before I got my little Jilly. |

| We have an owl, not sure which kind, but have seen it when walking Gina in my backyard, twice. I have also seen a snake in my backyard twice, as well, it's just a garter snake, so I'm not worried, as Gina is always on her lead. Today at training at PetSmart, Gina, peed in the isle, I went and got the towels and spray and cleaned it up, as we were leaving, my wife noticed that someone's dog had left a big pile in the isle, for someone else to clean up. I just don't understand people who don't pick up/clean up after their pets. Thankfully Gina and I haven't been accosted by any loose dogs on our walks, so far. Cheers Quad

| Geesh that is just awful....hawks scare that crap out of me. Not only are loose dogs a danger but they are also in danger. Every single time I see a pup loose I report it to animal control and TELL THEM they have to talk to them, I pay their taxes etc...kindly of course!

YT 1000 Club Member | @TPhelps 5 dachshunds gives me the shivers I know it's not the breed its the owner but every dachshund I've met so far has been a jerk lol @Annie09 THANK YOU! I was a bit mad first and my hubby went to the owners home and some with them about making sure their pet is secure when it's in their yard or he'll give them a citation(the perks of having a hubby that's a block captain on a military base lol) @Quadraphinic I hate having to navigate around the "land mines" on my walk route it's disgusting I especially hate it when their dogs poop and they just keep walking as if nothing happened...just gross. Maybe when they step in it on accident they'll learn to clean it up. @Maximo coyotes? Yikes! Luckily I haven't had the displeasure of running into one but who knows? I think I'll start taking a stick with me on our walks |

| I see your frustration. It is sad bc like Lynzy stated. They are at risk as well for having the ability to roam. People will probably wonder why I wont let my dogs down often in public. The public can be a very scary place.

| I am the only dog owner in my neighborhood that doesn't let their dogs run out free. I can only walk Priscilla 5 minutes left and 5 minutes right out of my driveway. left out of my driveway live 7 big hunting dogs that always run free. right out of my driveway live 3 big sheep dog. Its so unfair that I am basically being punished for doing the right thing since I can't walk Priscilla very far at all. |

| We have several birds of prey that frequent our yard. I just double check that I don't see any around before we go out. I wait for them to leave, its their Earth two and they are just doing what comes natural to them. |

| A couple of our neighbors are irresponsible with their dogs as well especially next door. Their dog is so aggressive and has attacked jasmin three times in our yard. The dog roams around the nieghborhood pooping in people's yard and is super aggressive. I hate that dog.

| I fear for these experiences, and thankfully Chevy has only encountered other friendly dogs. I'm glad to hear the Buddy Belt allowed you to safely picky up your baby.
