![]() We started looking for a breeder before Lady (R.I.P) died, and originally, we were looking for a playmate for her because we felt that she needed it.We had always had 3 yorkies and now, she was on her own.. We had our names down for so long, that we forgot about it, because months after putting our names on the waiting list, Lady became ill. She died, and we decided we didnt want any more yorkies..we felt awful about replacing her, but soon after Lady died, the breeder we had sighned up with phoned us and told us she was expecting a litter. We had forgotten all about it so we hadent cancelled! We visited her pups soon after they were born, and we ended up bringing home Milo and Bella (sibblings from the same litter). So you see, sometimes, when you least expect it, and even when you least think you want it, that perfect pup just seems to drop into your lap | |

| YT 2000 Club Member | I agree....if the timing is right, it will just happen! I wasn't looking for another pup as I had 2. I just happened upon Tatiana by accident. I fell head over heals in love with her at first sight. The next day, I went to just "see her" and well that just did me in. I left her a down payment and picked her up a couple of days later. She is now my little shadow and snuggle bug!

| YT Addict | Well maybe one will fall in my lap! Lol I pretty much have my fiancée convinced, and he has even been talking about getting another one. I guess we will just see what is on store for us with a new baby. If we did decide to, does anyone know of any reputable parti yorkie breeders? There are none in my area and I am very picky about where I will get my dogs from.

| One thing I think needs to be considered is the potential of high medical costs for older dogs. Our 14 yo is arthritic and has lots of skin infections and has hyperextension of her front paw -- she takes tramadol and rimadyl daily, along with cosequin, and gets antibiotics on a regular basis for infections. And has a $775 leg brace for her hyperextension. Our 11 1/2 yo is hypothroid, diabetic and anxiety-ridden. He gets a thyroid pill, 2x daily insulin shots and Prozac. And has lots of extra vet visits because of his diabetes. Our dog medical costs are pretty extensive - not sure I ever realized how high they could be for chronic health ailments for pups, and certainly didn't think much about it when we were looking at those cute little 12-week old puppies for sale! |

| We have had Yorkies for over 22 years....we normally have 4 but when we breed we up the amount to 7 or 8. A lap full but we would change a thing. Each one has their own personality that they shine with. The expense is worth the love you get back. Talk it over and see if you can afford the extra costs and if you can without sacrificing too much go for it. And enjoy the love and affection they will give you. |

ha ha... my dh has said he was going to smack me upside my head too i don't ask permission... I ask forgiveness after all is said and done. Poor guy...we got 4 dogs that way.I have three, 1 is a yorkie the others are shih tuz. I love them all.... but 3 is a handfull. At this time the vet bills are killers with one older and not in good health. Having 3 dogs that need to be groomed is a fairly large expense a month and you have the preventive care. I want another so bad I can taste it but I know my limits. My dh is simi retired (well... really retired but he plays at working) and if he wasn't home so much it would be a big problem because I work long hours. I do have a granddog that stays with us 3 nights a week... it is interesting to walk 4 lol!!!

| It really depends on your lifestyle and that of your future husband. Do you plan to travel much or be away from home a lot? it is something to consider. If you both are homebodies and like the pitter patter of little feet around then one more is not a big deal. Just remember that your Yorkies think they are people. They don't like separation from their people. If you can afford to take care of that many dogs and are up for the training that it involves, plus have a suitable lifestyle and home then go for it. |

| YT Addict | Thanks for all the input! For now we decided to just kind of look around and see if anything just comes in our lives. If it doesn't right now oh well, but if it does we will know it was meant to be. We are not going to start seriously looking until after we get married and we get settled in to our new house. We do love to travel and go places a lot and the girls love to go with us so that is definitely something to consider.

| 3 compared to 2 is more of an adjustment than I realized. I wanted to wait until we moved to a bigger place but you know life always has other plans. We are still working it out but I think as long as you have the time and the love the more yorkies the better!

| My friend has two from a breeder and just rescued a third and is in loooooooooooove and couldn't be happier. If I had a bigger home, paycheque and a great yard I'd do it. |

![]() I went from 2 to 4, and the last 2 are sisters. I have never regretted it, and I have 2 pairs of buddies, and all 4 get along well most of the time. If I lost one, it would really seem out of balance with 3.
