I've heard that from others as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with pairing in 2's, (the saying 2's company and 3's a crowd)

I went from 2 to 4, and the last 2 are sisters. I have never regretted it, and I have 2 pairs of buddies, and all 4 get along well most of the time. If I lost one, it would really seem out of balance with 3.
