YT 1000 Club Member | Need Help Placing Unexpected Pups A neighbor of mine has a pregnant Chihuahua and has offered me a puppy. Although I love all puppies I didn't plan on getting this particular breed and can't see myself taking on another pet that I didn't have "my heart set on". I've actually spoken with Rasta's breeder and told her I wanted another of her pups after xmas. yorkies are so addictive. My neighbor already has 3 chi's so this puts her at her pet limit on post. Her girl is expected to have 4/5 puppies and she doesn't have any homes as of yet. I am a bit worried about where these pups will end up seeing as how she was just going to give me one for free and she may do this with the other pups and go to irresponsible individuals she may not know well. She's also pregnant herself(her and her girl are due around the same time) and doesn't want to deal with taking care of the pups. Does anyone know of any Chihuahua Rescues/No Kill Shelters in the Austin/Central Texas area they recrecommend??? |

| There are so many chihuahuas out there that this will be a difficult task. The most common small dog in our local shelter is a chihuahua mix. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I know that's what I was thinking. There are so many chihuahuas and mixes in my area in shelters, craigslist, petfinder etc I would take one but I have my heart set on another yorkie and I'm not a big fan of shedding... |

| That's why spaying is so important when your not a breeder. Hope the pups get to stay with there mom until there 12 weeks but some how I doubt that is gonna happen.

| I want to say that Austin is a "no kill" city, but don't quote me on that.

| There is this Chi Rescue Group in Austin. Here the is web site. If you look to the left hand side there is a menu, you will see where to click for Surrender Info. There is info at the bottom of that for the person to put in a request for surrender. Ay Chihuahua Rescue - Nurture Your Inner Chi!
