| Traffic stopper! While driving home after work, all I wanted to do was just lay down and rest. Half way, the cars in front of me all stopped and some even pulled off to the side. There was no traffic light there so my first thought was "great.. an accident....." But I saw an animal run across the street. Then I realized it was an adult dachshund that somehow got loose. Mind you, the street I was on is a very busy road. Especially during traffic hours. The two cars in the front stopped traffic but there was no one on the other side to stop traffic. That's the direction the dog decided to head towards. There were several ppl that got out of their cars trying to get the dog to come to them. Myself included. I put the hazard lights on, grabbed the treat bag and start running towards the dog. Luckily, a car from the other side stopped near the dog, got out and was able to catch the dog safely! I wanted to share this b/c it actually made me feel better from last night... And it had a happy ending. Yes, I hear/see/read stories about rescues and such but I've never witnessed a situation where bunch of strangers trying to help a dog that could have easily been killed. Not one honk or yell... I'm sure not everyone here is a Christian or believe in any god but I feel like it was God's way of telling me not to just focus on the evil ppl that takes pleasure in causing harm. Because there are MANY more that's good. |

| Wow what a great story! I'm glad it helped you feel better and that the dog is safe. It's nice when God reminds us of the kindness and caring people there are in the world since so much of what we see and hear is bad.

| I am very happy to hear the little doggy was captured safely. It is heartwarming when people work together and there is a happy ending.

| What a wonderful story and witness to the amazing side of humanity. Not only do I think God put you there at that time, but He had you share the story for others (like myself right this moment) to read after having a faith testing day.

| One of those stories you are so glad you read. Thanks for helping and thanks for sharing. Good wins out over evil most of the time. When you think about your day - your life - it's all mostly good - from where we live, to having jobs, enough food, clothes, loved ones, freedom, ready help available, plenty of natural resources and people willing to lend a hand most of the time. Our days are filled mostly with things that go right and work right and people acting the way they should. And dogs we love. It's a pretty good world and even if there is evil in it at times, it doesn't carry the day; and for every really bad person, there are far more good ones, as evidenced by the fact that all of you all wouldn't have stopped en mass on a big, busy road during rush-hour traffic and tried to help that scared, lost little dog in trouble but would have just kept driving.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | What a wonderful and heartwarming story. I'm so proud of you Magnus. Most people would have just kept on going. So thank you for stopping to help this lost little Dixie whom I feel certain was terrified. You are one of the good people. Good for you that you realized that all of you weren't working alone. There may have been a message for everyone who tried to help. Will they see it? But then it may have been just for you. And you are the one we are the proudest of and love! Thank you so much for sharing this!!
