While driving home after work, all I wanted to do was just lay down and rest. Half way, the cars in front of me all stopped and some even pulled off to the side. There was no traffic light there so my first thought was "great.. an accident....." But I saw an animal run across the street. Then I realized it was an adult dachshund that somehow got loose.
Mind you, the street I was on is a very busy road. Especially during traffic hours. The two cars in the front stopped traffic but there was no one on the other side to stop traffic. That's the direction the dog decided to head towards. There were several ppl that got out of their cars trying to get the dog to come to them. Myself included. I put the hazard lights on, grabbed the treat bag and start running towards the dog. Luckily, a car from the other side stopped near the dog, got out and was able to catch the dog safely!
I wanted to share this b/c it actually made me feel better from last night... And it had a happy ending.

Yes, I hear/see/read stories about rescues and such but I've never witnessed a situation where bunch of strangers trying to help a dog that could have easily been killed. Not one honk or yell...
I'm sure not everyone here is a Christian or believe in any god but I feel like it was God's way of telling me not to just focus on the evil ppl that takes pleasure in causing harm. Because there are MANY more that's good.
