Senior Yorkie Talker | Red Bull and me Hello evrybody! My name is Mary and Red Bull (Bull for short) and I are new here. I have been learning a lot going through several threads and I thought it was time we introduced ourselves. Bull is 24 weeks old and he came home to us at 14 weeks. He adjusted very quickly, he truly is a darling!!! Very well behaved! I have a 6 yr old daughter and they dote on each other! He has several fur siblings: four other dogs (rescues exc my border collie), a cat two cavvies a chinchilla and a bunny. All rescues! I have a soft spot for homeless animals, as you can see! Bull is very smart and he is in obedience training. I also socialized him a lot from day one because I am the Head of a school and I want to start a program with him on responsible dog ownership. In fact, he has already come to school with me to a 3 rd form and he showed his skills to the kids!!! It was wonderful and he was a gentleman. I am surprised by his temperament! He is super sociable with dogs and people, I though that being a terrier it wouldn't be so easy. We have also been to the beach together, where he had a blast!!! I have one only concern: for those of you with big dogs and your yorkie, do you leave them alone together when you leave? Do you allow them to play together? He is so tiny I am scared at times. Ok, this is too long already! Bye for now! |

| wow how awesome! so glad you decided to say hello! sounds like you have a super gentlemen in the making. I would suggest not leaving him unattended with larger size dogs. You just never know. I know there are a few with large breeds here and so I'm sure they will chime in. Keep up the good work Red Bull!! and welcome you and your crew! Thank you for saving babies!!

| Hi and Welcome to YT! No I never left my big dog alone with the little ones. Their terrier nature comes through at times and the little ones cannot be trusted!

Temperament and size would make the decision for me. 4 dogs with a small pup, could be a problem, if they get excited. Good luck with your plans, they sound brill.

| I do leave my little ones with my big dogs, but my big dogs are 12 and don't get excited anymore. They mostly sleep all day and just growl when the puppies get annoying. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi! Thank you all for your comments and welcoming words. I have never left them alone together unsupervised so far. DH thinks I have become obsessed with Bull being so tiny. I just don't want to take any chances. My dogs are also elderly, 10 onwards, but the can still be kind of goofy sometimes... I'll keep on being obsessed! |
