| both your pups sure are dolls, I see Oliver's ears stood up. Glad to hear progress is being made. I wanted to add that I had a friend who's female yorkie was also terrified of the new puppy, she would not even come in the room that the puppy was in. But after several months they have gotten quite close and she is now comfortable in close quarters with the younger dog. The situation you have is much better than what happened to me. I had an aggressive male who did not like other dogs at all. Against everyone's advice I brought a puppy home when my male was about 2, it did not work at all, the older dog was either mean to me or the puppy or he just stayed under the bed. After about 8 months I felt no one was happy and rehomed the puppy. But situations like yours where the older dog is timid not mean seem to work themselves out within a few months. Good luck and PLEASE hang around more and continue to post more photos of your babies.

| 2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Her age has something to do with it, at that age she just does not want to be bothered by a spunky pup. I have four and when we brought my now 4 yr old home my second oldest ran form her like she had the plague or something. She avoided her at every turn going as far as hiding behind the couch or seeking refuge in the news paper bin at times. She would just look at me with utter disgust and sweet content. But now four years later they get along great. Quote:

| They are both adorable, and in time things will get better than it already is.

I trimmed the hair off the back and edges(this is the way we keep Sophie as well) and a day later they stood up. His brothers ears(who is with my parents) stood up on their own, however he too got a clip last weekend, so he looks tidy as well. That is a tough decesion to give up your puppy. Even though there is no great love for him from Sophie, I fell that things are progessing well. Thanks for all the kind compliments. Last edited by JAYF; 10-11-2013 at 10:19 AM. | |
