| Thin hair My precious little Yorkie is such a cutie, but I am a little concerned that her hair is rather thin. I would like to know if I am doing something wrong? Could anyone give me some tips such as quality of good, supplements etc. that I might not be aware of? |

| I'm not sure, but I think if their hair seems thin it means they are going to have pretty, silky hair. I'm sure someone with more experience can give advice.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | My Jasper is 8 months old and the hair on his head is just starting to thicken. When he was around 4 months old, it had really thinned out and I was really worried. Took him to the vet and I was assured it was normal for some to do that. His "new" hair is so soft and silky....no mats and very seldom any tangles. How old is your pup?

| There are various textures in yorkies coats and I had no idea until I actually owned a yorkie myself.I just asumed they all had super long (floor level) coats by default and thatīs not always the case. Milo and Bella are the 4th and 5th yorkies that I have owned in my lifetime, and not one of them has had the same coat.My first yorkie (Lady) had a thin coat thats ends broke so easily that it never got very long because of how fragile it was.Her chest and front legs actually looked bald, thatīs how thin it was.Jess (my second yorkie) had a cotton coat that was thicker, but it never grew past a couple of inches no matter what.Chicco (my 3rd yorkie) had a super fine coat *thick* that never ever matted but grew ever so slowly, and now, Bella & Milo have coats that are lovley and so easy to maintain but even so, Bellas is thicker.Their coats also grow faster. The thing is, as pups, all 5 DID have very similar coats.Itīs when the adult coat started to come through that they all changed If your girls hair is thin, make sure you use a good brush to groom her, one that wont break it or pull too much hair out etc.The good thing is, the thinner coats rarely matt |

| Please post a photo if you can--that will give us a better idea of whether her hair is naturally thin, or whether there is something wrong. If her hair is naturally thin, the best you can do is feed her a quality dog food. What are you currently feeding her? |

| Great topic because I see a cute four month old pup but the hair quality is lacking. I don't know if its diet or what. I saw pics of the parents and the mothers/fathers hair is to the ground, and silky. Not thin but doesn't look wiry and fragile the puppy's. The other parent has a shaved down look so I'm uncertain. |
