| Facebook Shutting Down Pet Accounts For those of you that have dedicated Pet Pages set up like a regular profile, Facebook is shutting them down, below is an article about it. All my doggie friends on Facebook are rushing to change the name a bit and are making sure their picture is on the profile page along with the dog. I know many of you have dedicated pages for your pups, so if you have not heard, I thought I would give you a heads up. I think Fan pages are different, but LOL I am no Facebook expert. Facebook to disable millions of pet accounts

| sad...at least Lulu Belle was adopted- her page is my favorite! I don't see why it matters, they should just let people have pet pages if they want.

| I think they are focusing on pages that require a friend request instead of a "like"...I read something about rescue ssites' pages but I don't know what is true or "enhanced truth" So far, I havent personally seen any pages gone.

| I could be wrong, but I believe they are trying to get rid of pets having regular accounts...I THINK you can have a fan page for a dog.

| Here..... Facebook to disable millions of pet accounts [I]Despite the popularity of pet profiles, going forward Facebook won't be the network for pets to flock to for their socializing needs. Escapist Magazine notes Facebook isn't totally kicking pets off the network though, users are free to set up pet pages, but must be in the form of a fan page rather than as an actual user profile.

| So you can switch it over to a fan site, rather than a regular page. No big deal, right?

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | You are right. The pages they are deleting are the ones that have friend requests. They one you like are actually linked to your own account.

| I believe this may be true but is it a mistake that the article says August 2012?

| Thanks Donna for sharing this article. I am certainly friends with plenty of pets on Facebook and hope they will be able to change their page to something else, so they can keep it up. This article reminded me that about 3 months ago, Facebook made me prove I was a human being. Isn't that funny? I had to answer a bunch of questions. I wonder if it was because I had Piccolo as my avatar.

| Dogster I think having a fan page for pets on facebook is okay but having a page that requires friend requests takes up band with and that takes time to clean up. I think having a Dogster type page is better suited for pet needs.

| This has been going on for a long time. I read somewhere that when an account gets removed it starts up more notices and rumors.
