| Does your Yorkie like to walk it's self/you? Every time I get ready to take Gina outside, she automatically sits or lays down so that I can attach her lead to her harness, she then grabs part of the lead with her mouth, and walks outside like she's walking me. Does anyone else's monkey butt fur baby do this as well? Cheers Quad

| Yes, and it's an attempt to be dominant. I try to discourage it, because their teeth are very sharp and I know one day she'll succeed at chewing through the leash. Also I feel it's very dangerous, bc if I ever need to pull the leash quickly, it being in her mouth could most likely break her neck!

| Gina doesn't chew on it, and drops it quickly once we are outside, she's just so cute walking her self. She is very good on the lead, and if she tries to pull, I just stand there until she comes back to me. I will try to get a picture of her doing this, not sure how successful I'll be in getting one, but I'll try anyways. Gina will be 17 weeks old this Sunday. Cheers Quad

With a puppy, she's probably imitating you when you hold the leash, lol. They're very smart.... lol.

| Gina's way too smart for my own good, but she is doing very well in all of her training. I think you are right about her imitating me with the lead, but she struts with it as well. Cheers Quad

| make sure the dog knows you are the pack leader and make sure you walk outside first and that she walks either beside or behind you on your walks it takes time though |

| My darling Gina, rip, was a doll when getting ready for a walk. I would say, "assume the position" and she would freeze. Putting her in a harness was a breeze. Now Zoey is a naughty pip. She wants to go but runs all over and it's hard to catch her. We seriously thought about not getting another yorkie after Gina passed because we couldn't expect to find such a good little girl as our Gina was. It's true. Zoey is everything that Gina wasn't but how can you not love that terrier personality.
