| Both my dogs hate dog food!!!! Sometimes I think if I put it on my plate and eat it myself - then they'd like it. Carol Jean |

Wosie is doing really well so far. She eats Cesars mixed with Purina One, but I do have to heat it in the microwave and mix it so the juice gets on each piece of dry food, or she won't eat it, lol. Talk about FUSSY! I have also been giving her veggies, carrots, peas, and green beans. I also have to watch what drops on the floor, or she's right there! She'll eat anything that falls from on high! Angel somtimes would not eat her food unless I melted shredded cheese on it! Silly pup...

Yorkie Talker | Strange things Yorkie's eat... My Skooter eats very well. I changed his dry food from Royal Canin (he was throwing up) to Natural Choice and the vomiting has stopped. BUT, he is a people food beggar. The other day I sat in front of the TV with a plate and he put his nose right next to the plate and looked at me with those eyes, like saying "gime, gime, gime some please". When I'm cooking he is always running around my legs to the extent that I'm afraid he will trip me or I'll drop something on him. He's just waiting for something to drop so he can lick it up. If it falls on the floor... it's his. He has devoured pieces of lettuce, croutons and corn. He has made a mad dash for a multi-vitamin tablet, but I yelled "LEAVE IT" and he stopped in his tracks. He has eaten my daughter's chap stick. Lately he has been eating my wall and nibbled at pieces of the baseboard, as well as the skirt of my sofa. The other night he threw up and it had pieces of wall, wood splinters and three (3) heavy duty staples from the sofa. Dropped food makes me laugh, but this scares me. I'm afraid he will eat something that will puncture him inside. I just have to watch him very closely.

| Good Luck! Yeaah, I think staples qualify as something that will puncture him from the inside. You can't watch them all of the time and if they are getting into mischeif, like eating stuff that will harm them, plaster, wood, fabric, staples, well the time has come to put him in an exersice pen or crate when you can't watch him. There are chemicals in the pet store you can buy that are supposed to keep dogs and cats away from where you don't want them, but I don't know if they would work in all cases and if they might stain something permanantly. I have not tried any of those chemicals nor of the following, but I have heard of people using them successfully on occasion. I have also heard of people using pepper dust, flakes, and juice,(Texas Pete, or Tobasco) with some success, but again, I do not know if it might stain your wall or fabrics. You could try using a small plain water spray bottle and while your dog is lose in the house, follow him around or be aware of where he is and what he is doing and if he starts chewing something that is not allowed, teach him to "Leave It" by either using that word and spraying him with water imediately or saying NO sharply and spraying him imediatly with water until he stops the bad behavior. As soon as he stops the bad behavior, you get him to do something good like come to you and you praise him for coming to you and pet him, but when he goes back to the bad behavior, squirt him again with the water and appropriate words. I hope other suggestions will be helful as well! Good luck, don't want your baby swallowing a thread, splinter, rock of plaster, staple, etc. that could bind or puncture his throat, stomach, colon, and worse complications. |

| My Lexie has been a picky eater too. No problem eating a pine needle, and other stuff that is not food. I recently started her on honest kitchen preference dog food and she inhales the stuff, looks at me like saying, more, more, paaahhleasse. I am relieved to have found something they all like and will clean their bowls. The best part is I add the cooked meat, so I don't have to worry about what is in the dry kibble, by products, etc. yeaaaa!
