| need adivice Zoey is 16 weeks she was just at the vet and got her rabies and last bordetella (they do liquid in the mouth) so she is pretty much done for the year...my next quest how long should i wait to have hair groomed? She is one big fur ball and i would like to tone it down a bit...is it safe to give her a decent hair cut not just a puppy cut? also does it effect her adult coat? |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I have no advice on the hair cut because all mine are in puppy cuts. But as far as the vaccine goes, it takes about 2 weeks for full immunity to develop.

| Once you wait for the full immunity, she will be safe to go to the groomer. I'd fully check the groomer out, and bring photos and a notecard filled with specific things you want and don't want done. I groom my little one on my own, but in the past, I had some negative and very dangerous experiences with groomers.

| I would definitely wait two weeks after her booster to let her have exposure to other dogs and animals.

| 2 weeks after her last shots. You could have her cut to a puppy cut. Sense she is a mix I really have no idea how her hair is. Yorkies have puppy hair and then get adult hair.

| She's adorable! I waited about 3 weeks after the last shot before taking either outside. Even then, I only stayed within my yard/sidewalk for another month. I was just overly cautious... As far as grooming goes... Like everyone says, wait at least 2 weeks. And I strongly suggest you research the groomer/facility before taking her in. Also, if you haven't already, it'd be a good idea to get her used to being brushed, bathed, etc... I waited till both Magnus/Zoey was more.. tolerant before taking them to the groomer. Like Lisaly, I groom them at home myself. It's mostly for my own peace of mind though. LOL |

| Wait until two weeks after the shots for full immunity. For Toby (a Morkie) I had a puppy groom done where they gave him a bath, trimmed up his face, paws, and "sani area" (their term!), and trimmed his nails. They charged about $16. This was at PetSmart--I know some of you are cringing right now, but the woman did a great job! This service is offered up until six months of age.
