YT 2000 Club Member | Could you just hunt down that flea and pick it out and smash it! If it is just one...... I have never heard of those flea meds, so I can't help with that question.

| I use K9 advantix II- 10 lbs and under ( and for pups 7 weeks and older). It's a topical, but your vet should have it. It works pretty well for mine so far. I've also used zodiac spray when needed in the past- puppy formula since most of my dogs have been small- 14 lbs and under. That kills eggs for up to 30 days. If you've already used something for fleas, I'd ask the vet before using a different topical, tbh. Call them and ask. Otherwise, hunt down that flea and kill it!

| I would be a bit leary too...I would definitely want to talk to the vet directly before administering anything more...that's a whole lot of treatment for her. Have you tried Flea shampoo yet?

| Give her a bath...make sure you wet her head 1st then put shampoo around her neck, that way the fleas do not go on her head. Bathe her normally & the flea should jump off her if it's still on her. Most of the time, the flea doesn't stay on the pet, after feeding, they jump off & hide in the cracks & crevices. Vacuum, wash all bedding & repeat weekly. oops, I just read your above post...

| For future reference, Capstar is a quick pill that eliminates fleas fast, but is only a 1 times use, and does not give protection after the first 24 hrs. Just my opinion, I would not use any flea treatment, pill, topical, or even flea shampoo on a pup that tiny (age??). I would just shampoo as mimimomo described. Make sure to leave the shampoo/soap on for 5 min. then rinse very thoroughly. Some people love Dawn dishwashing detergent to get rid of fleas. Use a fine toothed flea comb to make sure there are not more fleas hiding. Vacuum daily for a while. You will probably get control by just cleaning the pup and home, since there are not very many fleas. A large infestation over longer time would take more intervention.

Having them wet and soapy will make it much easier to spot any fleas, and remove with the fine comb. Sometimes I thought my pups only had one or two fleas, but when wet and soapy, I'd find lots more, usually around their tail, belly, and ears. Don't freak out... we've all had them on our pups at one time or another. Luckily I haven't had any on mine for a few years, especially after getting rid of all carpet in my house. Have you posted pics of your little one? She must be a little doll.
