| What is a Kong? Hi everyone. I dont' mean to sound stupid, but what exactly is a Kong? I am assuming that this is either a treat or a toy. I looked it up on the internet and it seems like a toy that you can put food in? I have a 11 week old yorkie and from reading a lot of the discussions there are many yorkietalk owners that use kongs. Is this a really good treat for the dog? Also, does anyone have any suggestions on toys. I think Bailey wants some interesting toys. He likes his ball, and little stuffed animals, but it just seems like he gets bored with them after a while. Thanks |

| A kong is a toy made out of rubber that you put a treat in the middle of it. Go here:http://www.kongcompany.com/worlds_best.html I have one for my dogs and they like it a lot, but they always seem to misplace it under a chair or somewhere.

| Wosie loves her kong! Due to its' hard rubber construction, the kong is one of the safest and most durable chew toys to leave in the crate or xpen when you have to put your pup in there. Wosie stays in her wire crate when we have to go somewhere we can't take her. I stuff a half piece of fat free american cheese in the middle of the kong, and she will work on it for about an hour trying to lick the cheese out. It's pretty cute to watch, but after the first time we tried it, I have never been here to watch her do it! We're always gone! Makes her not mind when we are leaving! I am sure soon she will ask me to LEAVE so she can get a treat in her kong!!

| I bought like 6 of them a long time ago. I stuffed them with peanut butter, cooked carrots, brown bread, you name it...my yorkies wouldnt take to them. I really wish they would have because it's great exercise for their gums and teething. |

| Mine loves squeaky balls. We play ball all of the time. She really goes through them. I get her some smaller squeaky balls and some bigger one's. She also loves long stuffed toys that we play tug of war with or I just keep her running circles around me hanging onto it. Yorkies love to play! She also has a very small stuffed puppy that she plays with a lot. Here's a kong: http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...kong&N=2023689

| My dogs(all 3) did not care for the kong toy or the kong paste that you put in the toys. I'd say dont waste your money, but you may have better luck with it than I did

| Puppy Kong They have a Puppy Kong too, its the same size as the xs but its made with a bit softer rubber for little chewers... It great for pups that are not big or strong enough to really work the orignal Kong. I have had great sucess with it, the key is finding their favorite treat in the whole world and sticking that in them! They go absolutly nuts trying to get the treat out!

| I did try cheese(like cheese wiz or the cheese in a can) instead of the kong paste and chloe would lick off the cheese, but I was never sucessful in getting them to chew on the klong toy like they were designed for. I will also warn you that the Kong paste is green(not white like the can makes it look) and extremely messy. I never tried to put a hard treat in the kong toy so maybe that would work better and it would defiently be a lot less messy! So far my girls really like the nylaobone chew bones. Thats the only thing I could get them all to chew on.

| My dogs LOVE the Kongs. Although peanut butter works a lot better than the Kong paste for inside. If I use the paste it's out in about 5 min tops - the peanut butter lasts about a half an hour!

| I recently purchased the puppy kong. My pup loves it. I havent filled it with anything yet, but she loves biting on it! I wanted to give it to her empty to see if she'd like it before I started stuffing it. I am going to be looking for some ideas on things to stuff it with. The hole on the puppy kong seems rather big. So, what can I stuff it with that wont fall out? |
