| Seperation Anxiety Hi Everyone, I am fairly new to YT. My husband and I have had our little yorkie (Teddy) for a few months now. We both work full time jobs. I was on vacation for awhile and spent all of my time with Teddy. Now that I'm back at work, I'm getting really bad seperation anxiety from him. I would cry while driving to work and when I'm at work, I would constantly think about Teddy and worry about him. It's heart breaking for me to hear him cry and bark when I leave for work. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Is there any advice anyone can give me that will help? Hope everyone had a nice holiday Thanks, Mai |

| I had the same problem with my little JPop...probably not what you want to hear, but I got #2, Taz, to keep him company. Works great! Do you leave the tv or radio on for him, this may help if you're not ready for another. |

| I know what you mean. I am very lucky to be a stay home mom and I take my Gus everywhere. I had emergance surgery in Oct. (appendix) and was in the hospital for 3 1/2 days and I was so worried about my Gus. He was all alone during the day. And my husband told me he was so depressed that he didn't want to eat or play. I felt so bad for him and wanted to come home so badly. He and I were so happy to see oneanother. He hasn't left my sight since I got home. Not like he ventured too far in the first place. The only time he's not in views sights it's because he's doing something he shouldn't be doing,,, like taring up paper, or he got into something. That is the only time he's not right by me.

| This is happing with Rocky also. I was on Vacation all last week, and I guess he got use to me being home because this morning when I put him is crate he cried and this sad little look on his face. I left a radio on for him like alway, plus he has some toys in is crate with him. I guess we just have to get back into our daily routine. |

| I think it happens to all of us. Especially after a vacation where you're used to spending so much time together. I know it's hard, but it just takes some getting used to. On Christmas Eve I took my boy dog Tucker to my mom's for a sleepover, while my fiance stayed home with my girl dog Biddy. I was heartbroken all night missing Biddy and thinking that she was missing me. I know it's silly, but I kept thinking that she was going to be extra sad because it was Christmas Eve (like she knows what day it is!). Anyway, I think it's completely natural to feel the way you do - you love him so much!! Good luck - things will get better

| A BIG thank you to everyone's advice. Everyone is so nice and sweet on here. I'm really glad that we have a group of loving people on this site. Most of the time when I leave for work, I have the tv on the Disney channel. But I never thought of the treat in the kong ball before. I will try that tomorrow to see if it works. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who has seperation anxiety. I guess most people do because yorkies are so loving. My husband and I were thinking about getting another yorkie. Would introducing a new yorkie be a problem? Should we do any gradual steps to introduce him to the new yorkie if we get one? Being on this site and getting support here definitely helps as well. Thanks everyone for your support and advice!!! |

| My puppies have never had to stay home by themselves except for short periods. I'm lucky there. So far. The thing that has always gotten me is to look back at the patio door and see the sad face looking back at me as I'm leaving. Then I always feel so sad and could almost cry. I have always hated leaving my puppies and have always felt bad even though I know there is someone there with them. I suppose we suffer separation anxiety, too.

| Go for #2! My husband and I plan on always having 2 dogs, as they have company when we are gone. My Raven is looking for Hope, who is a new addition (she is being spayed this am) - it is like he expects her to be here! |

| I know! I hate leaving my Miko at home when I go to work. He is usually with my mom when my husband and I are at work, so it's not like he's alone...I just miss him Soon though, we'll both be working from home, so it won't be that bad. We are wanting to add a little girl to our family also. He loves other dogs so much, that I think he (and my husband and I) would love it!
